Sounds like the seventies' rock to me... | Reviewer: Coco Trigos | 7/21/08
Sounds like the seventies rock to me... Well, this is only to give my own opinion: I think this song is emotionally loaded of energy. I identified myself with this song. I had been in love and he passed away two weeks after having listened to this song. I had listened to it four or five months before and when I asked him to listen to it... he died two weeks later. It has love in it. I felt very lonely the day he died and the following year. Every time I listen to this song, it recalls me the great love I had for him. Thanks. The singers have wonderful voices and all the musicians are superb. Keep it up! I'm 51.

War | Reviewer: Someone | 7/10/08
I think this song it about war.
Reasons:
- The last line in the song (Its a day I'm glad I survive)
- In the music video they look out the window and see flames, however everyone outside acts normally, this shows that only the can see it or they are remembering these flames in the middle of a city
- When you say talk my hand, your usually trying to help someone, so when it says take your hand, I believe that he is trying to tell the person to save themselves
- Lonely Day is followed by the song Solider Side
Oh for pete's sake, it's not Simple Plan or Good Charolette 'bad'. | Reviewer: Susan | 5/20/08
I like this song, but people sure are tearing into it for no good reason. It doesn't really cross the 'emo gothic no one suffers like me' line, in my opinion. If you listen to the song it actually sounds like it drew influences from the Rolling Stones and the Animals (specifically 'Paint It, Black' in the lyrics and 'House of the Rising Sun' in an odd way). And before anyone jumps on me for that one, I'm not saying they're THAT good, I'm saying it sounds like they were going for that idea. I like it for that reason.
is this song serious? | Reviewer: Robert | 4/17/08
When I first heard this song, I immediately assumed it was supposed to be a parody of poorly written emo music and bad 13 year old gothic poetry. If it is supposed to be a joke, then its not bad but not nearly worth the attention it recieved. If it is supposed to be serious, it may be the single worst song ever written. I usually like System of a Down but between the cliche music, the poor grammar, and the lyrics that sound like they took less time to write than the song lasts, it is terrible.
Respect. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/3/08
Music, Rap, Hip hop, Rock, Hardcore Country R&b, Jazz, Is all music nonetheless, and should be atleast respected. As a Musician, there is not one other musician that I will say they suck. I've never heard one song on a record I disliked. This song has multiple meanings, as every song does, your comprehension is your own, everyone has their own view to it. Lyrics don't really have to make grammatical sense, like poetry, sometimes you have to break the rules. Music is a form of poetry, think about that the next time you talk about Rap, because it's just music down to the bare roots, a melody, harmony, rhythm, and dynamics.
More than one meaning | Reviewer: Michaela, 13. | 3/24/08
This song has more than one meaning which is sometimes hard for an artist to include in lyrics or writing.
it is about depression, being alone on the inside, having no one to relate to you or understand, and how the depression makes things boring and making them seem like nothing is like what you feel.
it can also be about how we all have one of those days where you either have an internal conflict that no one can relate to or you're just having a depressing and bored day that you can't explain. But, in the end we all make it through ("it's a day that I'm glad I survived") and live on.
i love this song, it explains in such simple words, in words that i thought had to be so thought out and complex to describe it, my feelings lately.
btw, this is absolutely Serj singing. i recognize his style.
About "War" - Corrected | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/12/08
Who ever wrote "I heard the song is about having to go to war.
This makes more sense in the line "a day I'm glad I survived."
Plus you see Daron wearing a jacket with military badges on it.
Whatever it means, Lonely Day is an awesome song.
" dude the song isnt about war u retard its about a lonely day = bored... he was dored to "death" at least he survived, a day has passed since then and he made it threw that means that there will be a tommorw so keep on living.... end of seesion
NO meaning? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/6/08
this song has a lot of meaning to it. it's depression that you can't relate with anyone else. not about having no one around. or bordom. come on... if u didnt have a simple mind, u'll understand what ever artist is talkin about. open your mind and listen.
