The Reviews about Lonely Day (page 2/ 13)
------ performed by System of a Down

just another song | Reviewer: cant wait to GTFO of work | 1/13/09

i think this song definatly is not about depression it is about just having a lonely day cause in the end it says It's a day that I'm glad I survived it is not over dramatic like other depressing or gothic songs made. i think it just focusses on a lonely day and the similarities of all of us that we all have a lonely day it is unavoidable not the best work of system of a down the song writer mustve been bored and just wrote the song without much creativity but thats just my opinion

Deception | Reviewer: Ciram | 12/27/08

Men always intents to find a point of view similar to his own. Thus in music it renew it's soul and enflame motivation that has been lost. But it is even more strong when the emotion is deep or the music itself is readaptable. (preferably insturmental or when lyircs them self are conjectural)

You cannot determine what musician truly mean song such as this. yes there is certain sorrow it is indeniable. but it is only in musicians mind.

One last thing: Giving up only makes things worse

not that hard ppl... | Reviewer: BobDOAL | 12/12/08

To Bob Doal it seems like they lost someone close to them. Bob Doal thinks that they miss that person. Bob Doal doesn't think that makes them emo, just means they miss someone. When Bob Doal lost his Great Aunt who he was really close to Bob Doal was sad too. If Bob Doal had lost his wife or long time girlfriend Bob Doal might of been so sad as to want to hurt himself at one point, but just as in this song, Bob Doal would survive that day.

Huh? | Reviewer: Andrew | 11/3/08

Where the heck did you hear that Benthedorklord?

I liked the interpretation where the things on fire were supposed to represent buildings which were attacked in the Iraq War and people are walking by not caring and the objects are just in the background.

Parody | Reviewer: Benthedorklord | 10/1/08

LOL.

Guys this song is a parody. It's not meant to mean anything about depression - it's a joke about people who write actual songs like this. Think about it - "the most loneliest day of my life" - doesn't that sound sort of like a joke?

It's not about depression. It's really not.

Battling Depression | Reviewer: Bored | 8/13/08

Only people who suffered from depression or know someone who did can truly understand this song. It's very simple. I made it through another day is what he means at the end. I think it's about one of those days you feel so alone, you isolate yourself from all your loved ones. Then you start to contemplate about suicide but you really don't want to and you fight yourself. That's probably what the badge represents-a war inside of you on that day.

Sounds like the seventies' rock to me... | Reviewer: Coco Trigos | 7/21/08

Sounds like the seventies rock to me... Well, this is only to give my own opinion: I think this song is emotionally loaded of energy. I identified myself with this song. I had been in love and he passed away two weeks after having listened to this song. I had listened to it four or five months before and when I asked him to listen to it... he died two weeks later. It has love in it. I felt very lonely the day he died and the following year. Every time I listen to this song, it recalls me the great love I had for him. Thanks. The singers have wonderful voices and all the musicians are superb. Keep it up! I'm 51.

War | Reviewer: Someone | 7/10/08

I think this song it about war.

Reasons:

- The last line in the song (Its a day I'm glad I survive)

- In the music video they look out the window and see flames, however everyone outside acts normally, this shows that only the can see it or they are remembering these flames in the middle of a city

- When you say talk my hand, your usually trying to help someone, so when it says take your hand, I believe that he is trying to tell the person to save themselves

- Lonely Day is followed by the song Solider Side

Oh for pete's sake, it's not Simple Plan or Good Charolette 'bad'. | Reviewer: Susan | 5/20/08

I like this song, but people sure are tearing into it for no good reason. It doesn't really cross the 'emo gothic no one suffers like me' line, in my opinion. If you listen to the song it actually sounds like it drew influences from the Rolling Stones and the Animals (specifically 'Paint It, Black' in the lyrics and 'House of the Rising Sun' in an odd way). And before anyone jumps on me for that one, I'm not saying they're THAT good, I'm saying it sounds like they were going for that idea. I like it for that reason.
