nice! | Reviewer: chenoa | 7/1/08
the song Chop Suey! is about jesus dying on the cross, if you noticed, "Father in to your hands i commend my spirit" "Why have you forsaken me?" were two of the things Jesus said as he was tied to the crusifix,
not about suicide! | Reviewer: collin | 5/26/08
this song is about conformity. its very easy to see if u look at it correctly. and these guys maybe armanian but theyre not muslim at all most likely theyre atheist. when they say i cry when angels deserve to die they are talking about how its sad when nice people do bad things because of conformity. if u dont know what conformity is if u email me i will let u know. longhornobsessed@aim.com
Awesome Song | Reviewer: Alex | 2/22/08
But yeah this song is deffinently about suicide and Suicide bombers. and Luke these guys are Muslim they dont belive that Jesus was the savior of the earth i agree with erica Blair on this one. They also raised a significant amount of Controversy with this song after 9/11
okay. | Reviewer: krystine | 1/27/08
seriously, who cares what the meaning to the song is. there is no point to argue with someone about its meaning because if they wanted people to know its meaning they would tell you. this song could have multiple meanings and its made to be viewed differently.
all in all its a great song.
and you arguing about its meaning takes away from it.

well im going with Erica Blair on this one, their assumption seems more sensable, and doesnt give the band a bad overview or aura, like other people have mentioned, like "Suicide Bombings" wtf is that all about man? Thats not even right dont talk about SOAD that way dude, thats obviously not their intentions and you hardly get what the phrase "Self-Righteous Suicide" is actually refereing to. But overall this song kicks @$S
How is this about suicide bombers? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/16/08
Seriously? Not only is there no evidence, aside from the word suicide, but the whole last stanza is a giant biblical reference.
And I know you didn't hear it from anyone in the band, because SOAD makes a point to never explain their lyrics.
blah~ | Reviewer: erica blair | 1/15/08
this is a song about suicide, pure and simple.
When someone is depressed, they get abusive, aggravated at small things (why'd you leave the keys on the table) and wind up killing themselves.
when he is talking about Father (God) and commending his spirit to him means he killed himself and gave God his spirit. Why have you forsaken me means "why'd you make my life so hard?"
The angels part means that the person who died thought he was a good person and didn't deserve all the shit he went through
You guys are wrong | Reviewer: Luke | 11/28/07
It's not about suicide bombers...its about how jesus didn't know what his purpose was whenever he first came to the earth
its about suicide bombers who knew? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/5/07
alot of people dont actually know that this song is about suicide bombings but its obvious what do you think the line self righteous suicide means? anyway this is an awesome song by an awesome band. this is quintisential soad.
