On the surface, you could interpret the song as being about Manson - however, I think it's much deeper. It's about the coldness of our society, and the general alienation people feel. In other words, the disconnection people feel from each other. Because people feel alone and that no one cares about their suffering (which is somewhat true), they shut down and become cold themselves. "You don't care about how I feel, I don't feel it anymore." This is a theme expressed in their other songs as well (e.g. Aerials, Ego Brain). Why do you think the United States has the most occurances of people going crazy and killing innocent people? I'm a teenage cartoonist aspiring to be a comic book artist, in my comic story thing one of my good characters went to prison for something he didn't mean to do and this song reminds me of him.
