you gotta be kidding | Reviewer: carlyle richard | 7/20/07
i think that matt is way outta line... Stone sour is great.. you can listen to them no matter what emotions you have. Slipknot is great too but its just i think Corey has to settle down and i think Stone Sour is a lot more rugged without those masks. Corey Taylor is one of the greatest front men of all time along with Jim Morisson
they will fail | Reviewer: matt collins | 5/22/07
i believe that stonesour will fail and corey taylor knows this so he and jim root is just trying to help them from not going under but i kinda liked their new album but i love all of slipknots better i would do anything to be in a band such as slipknots if like corey t. dont join back with the knot then come get me at 11104 ky highway 315 booneville 41314 is the zip code then i i i will lead slipknot in a greater success than he could ever do

Excuse the daft review name, I'm hyper. :D
Anyway, I'm led to believe that Stone Sour are more popular than Slipknot (as I'm a regular poster on the Download Festival Forums). I, however, think Slipknot are bigger for the time being. In terms of quality and marketability, Stone Sour aren't too far behind Slipknot. I'd love to see Stone Sour live but I missed their most recent UK Tour :(
Here's to hoping they become a big band, because they are good enough, and Stone Sour have Corey Taylor and Roy Mayorga who are experienced enough personalities to cope with the big time, so good luck to them.
A side project? This is bigger than that! | Reviewer: xPepx | 8/24/06
Stone Sour in perspective to Slipknot is rather small - for now. When people talk of Stone Sour, Slipknot is the first other band that everyone thinks of. But this "side project" of Corey Taylor's will surely go further than just another idea for a band. This band has enough fans, music and from what I can hear 'passion' for the music to survive on its own two feet and not just through 'Knot fans. Being a Slipknot fan myself this is extremely different to what I would have imagined Corey Taylor to be. Finally un-masked and in a new light, not just showing his face but also showing an amazing voice and vocal skills. He is a true singer - "Bother" and "Reborn" are my two favourtie songs, both from different albums (PLEASE buy them both - they are worth your money). Also, this does not lower my view of Taylor in Slipknot and this band is really worth taking a moment to look over. Corey has a voice that turns heard, and being distinctive through Slipknot's tearing screams and violent learings at the microphone, right down to melodic and calm vocals in Stone Sour. Again, this band is well worth listening to and I hope that they will become bigger than just a "side project". Keep up the amazing work guys, I'm sure this will go far!
(Come What (Ever) May - Stone Sour and Stone Sour - Stone Sour
are the two albums to look out for.)
