Review about Don't Take Me Alive ------Performed by Steely Dan | 10/02/2006 11:00:00 AM Donald Fagen has strange friends In 1979 a Portland, Oregon radio station did a show on Steely Dan and explained that the song "Don't Take Me Alive" was about a friend of Donald Fagen who had killed his parents in Eugene and refused to be arrested and holed up in his house with a gun. They didn't say whether or not he also had dynamite in that residence. I never read a story about it in the newspapers since I wasn't in Oregon at the time. Thanks to Lynn B.
