Though pop groups and pop acts are used to their 15 minutes - very few bands have ever achieved what the Spice Girls did - and in such a short amount of time. The lowest chart position the girls ever achieved from their first single to their last single was #2. And that only went to the single, Stop! from their second album (primarily because the girls were in the United States performing for their completely sold out US tour and couldn't promote it), and their 3rd album "Forever". Every other release went to #1. Even after they unofficially broke up in 2001, every girl apart from Victoria achieved #1 status with a single. Geri Halliwell, tied with Melanie Chisholm holds the record for the most #1's for any British female... ever. Many people claim to want to "forget" the Spice Girls or are embarrassed to say they liked them. This is typical insecurity that surrounds the pop music culture. But no matter what people will think now that it is 2006 and the Spice Girls have had their day - you can never take away the facts that surround the group. They have sold millions and millions of singles and albums around the globe. Two hold the record for most successful British female artist of all time and they have achieved group wise or solo collectively over 16 #1 singles.
