I was at school and I was listening to this song and this girl who I liked sat with me and sang to it and I knew that she was the girl for me. Ever since then I loved this song and I own it and I can sing it and play it on my guitar. At our prom I told the DJ to play this song and everyone including us slow danced and it was romantic. Me and Alex walking barefoot on the beach where the prom was feeling the cool breeze in my hair and just smiling. We layed on the sand and looked up at the sky and we kissed. I sang this and played my guitar at her Sweet 16 and even today we are still together and still crazy for this song and we recommend this song for people who have girlfriends or boyfriends. A cautious demanding 'would you just lay with me' offering kind of sense in live and...'just forget the world' ... Such intensity 'bursting into life'. "Those three words/I said too much/They're not enough" For a very long time, I thought he was simply referring to 'how I feel', which he had just said, but now I'm beginning to wonder if he's talking about 'I Love You'. It's very sad. The comment Nina made about the origin of the phrase 'Chasing Cars' has also explained more of what the lyrics actually mean.
