"The song is about scarlet, corey's wife who died of cancer."

His wife didn't die of cancer, they just divorced.. And this song (probably) is about his ex-wife, but he wrote it while they were still together, so I suppose it's some sort of a lovesong.

The song is about scarlet, corey's wife who died of cancer. vermillion is another name for red and so is scarlet. The first part is him just being mad at the world alittle bit of the anger he has and her frustration that she can't be with him or anyone. This part is how he as let go of her and how she is truely dead. Get it now?

this is one of my favorite songs. it is incredible, his voice is amazing. my favorite part in the song is

I beileve this is a song about he has a Gf who always cheated and stuff on him. Yet because of this. He didnt want anyone else having her so he killed her 'Enter the night where she came home... Forever'

I think Vermilion... this song is actually talking about a person's other side... the 'she' i think is something inside him, another person...

"I'm a slave, and I am a master," This is my favorite part... and this is als othe one that rung a bell in my head telling me it's about schizophrenia.

This has to be like the best romantic song ever, I'm into those fucked up or twisted love songs, like the perfect drug by NIN, and of course this song. Both parts are awsome, each has a different sound which is good, the second part is softer so if ur in the mood to listen to a calmer song just listen to part 2. Yea well I hope if Slipknot is making a new albulm I hope they make more sick songs and keep rockin.

Vermilion reminds me of a story of a man who created a statue of a women. He fell in love with the statue and became so obsessed with it that he did nothing to continue his life that it killed him.

The song, part I, makes me think about having such strong feelings about something that it makes you crazy and out of control. You become obsessed and all you think about is the fixed image you have of that person. You can't accept any deviations from that image so you lash out at the object of possession and despise yourself for it. The part where it says "she isn't real, I can't make her real." I think is about not accepting the deviations from the image you set up in your mind of that other person. Possibly that image is that she loves you back or is in an exclusive relationship with you, but isn't.

Part I of the song is a great poetic example of obsession, power and control, and the potential despicable behavior that is created from that OVERWHELMING feeling (I can't let this build up inside of me). Part II seems to be about the regret and the refusal to accept the consequences of his actions (she isn't real, I cant make her real).

Love the songs. Two fingers up!

no they are not breakin up. my boss actually knows them personally (he used to work for roadrunner and toured with them for 4 months on their subliminal verses tour). they are working on a new album that will be out in 2008.

The best song on Volume 3, next to "The Blister Exists." (In my oppinion, that is.) It's one of my favorite songs, second onlt to "Left Behind." I listen to this song over and over again and never get tired of it... I fucking adore it.
