Among the best | Reviewer: Calvin Gao | 7/13/2007
Slipknot, though this album was deemed "poser" by haters and some fans alike, continue to break through the ground, laying off a trail for more nu-metal bands to emerge. Opium of the People is a fast-paced nu-core song, combining elements of rapcore and heavy metal to create a punk-infused nu-core song, complete with death metal influenced guitar riffs, reviving their history of being a nu-metal/death metal band.

The absolute dogs bollocks. The song is such a tune. Guitar = Sickness. Vocals = Sickness. Drumming = Sickness. Slipknot = Sickness. The subject is so real.
Oh my god, yes | Reviewer: Jake Price | 2/3/2006
Slipknot, ever the heavy band is breaking new ground. At their Pheonix, Arizona concert (cought on cd " 9.0 live") they assorted their many songs together. From "Liberate" to "Before I forget" they have always showed exceptional work. Some have critized them as "selling out" and "going mainstream" (this last comment made by a girl named Julia). Watch/listen to a concert and you'll think it was impossible. This Iowa-bred metal band has made great success with their-(double-platinum)-Vol. 3 Subliminal Verses. "Opium of the people" is a fast paced song that is energetic and energizing ( for me at least ). Good song; on a scale of five it deserves a 4.7 from me. -Jacob Price
