Best song ever | Reviewer: Maggot666 | 1/23/09

This is such a great song.
Who ever left the review about the meaning of the chorus being about a little girl is so wrong. You are not a slipknot fan, anyone who knows slipknot knows how much this refers to the sickness inside.

the only explanation might be the follow up that relpaced this song on the re-release "Me Inside"

Meaning Of The Chorus | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/20/08

ive found somthing out
wat corey means by You All Stare, But You'll Never See, Theres Something Inside Me, is that people stare at the ground, but dont see that theres something inside it, a coffin with a little girl in it

Slipknot was sued for using the story as their song, that's why it was removed from the album. However they later on bought the rights to the song and re-released the album again, and played it live in just about every show of theirs. According to the website and media, this was a fake story, however the reason why they kept it on, was because Corey Taylor still thought it was somehow real and connected to something, therefore they kept it.

On the 9.0 Live version of this song, at the start he says:

"This song is about a girl, in a box."

And thats basically what the song is. A girl, named Ariadne Purity Knight, was kidnapped by an obsessed stalker and kept in a box. A simple wooden box, with barely enough room to move and breathe.

A quote from the crime files:

"Purity Knight disappeared following a stalking incident outside her home. According to reports, a neighbor noticed a man in the brush outside her home. The suspect was not found, but his camera and film were later located near the chase scene."

Hmm.. | Reviewer: Bill | 9/3/08

Well, the thing is most heavy bands, (take bands like Korn) do exactly that, its a form of music, getting back at the world, rebelling, and trying to let others feel what there feeling, it really gets to people on an emotional level, although I will agree with you..people trying to connect with these bands on a personal level, (for example, Maynard James Keenan was raped, people try to put themselves in his position.) are retarted.

And your right, people will overlook the quality of the music for exactly that reason (to put themselves in the position of the writer) but thats their loss..there missing out on some amazing stuff.

the only reason the majority of people like bands like slipknot is because they believe that their lives are so bad that the song(s) illistrate thier problems no one actually looks into the value of the song or what the writer is trying to express people are very selfish

ps . dont take this personally and start bitching about what a cunt i am and how i dont no what other people are feeling once again if you do ur just proving my point your selfish it isnt about you

Purity Knight | Reviewer: Me | 6/14/08

Corey Taylor read a story at crimescene.com about a girl named Purity Knight who was kidnapped and buried alive. He then wrote a song about it in anger with the people who did this.

Happily, this story was not true, it was a fictional case. Purity Knight didnt exist and wasn't kidnapped

great | Reviewer: ????? | 2/4/08

this songs great coreys vocals are in talking tone or something but it sounds really cool sids turntables are great as well this song is one of my favs by the band too bad it was removed i also love how slipknot put stories behind there songs because that gives them more meaning than simply rhyming

Great | Reviewer: ????? | 2/4/08

Hell of a good song | Reviewer: Tyler | 1/15/08

Killer track, it sucks that it was removed though, it's my second favorite song.

BTW, it was removed because it was based on the (fictional) story of Purity Knight, a girl who was allegedly kidnapped and buried alive. Corey wrote it when he saw the story on crimescene.com, but, because it was fictional it was copyrighted. They removed it under threat of a law suit. Samples weren't the issue.
