i hve guitar hero 3 and i looked up the lyrics cause i couldnt tell if he was sayin he was "at war" or world, but i like it more as at war cause it makes more sense to me even after readin that one guys explanation, but nobody really cares wat i think unless it benefits them in any way so ill just keep the rest of my thoughts to myself

1 word can change the whole meaning of a song. So it is important, cause you can't enjoy something as a 'whole' if you're getting the wrong picture of what the author is trying to tell you. And in the case of world/worm it actually makes a HUGE difference, because seriously, tiny worm - big ass world. Anyhow, it's a kick ass song and we're covering it at the next gig here. :D

okay i love the song but just the reviews said that it suxs hat doest mean shit... o you wanna listin to a hevy song by slipknot listn to f*** you all... im not a head banger tho i just love the songs :p

this song is very good, very heavy. i recommend it to all you heavy/thrash metal fans out there.

Not to disappoint all you die hard Slipknot fans who believe [that for God knows WHAT reason] he says 'worm', but in the official lyrics in the little album booklet that comes with the CD, it says 'world' not 'worm'.

The lyric means that he was Powerful before he was even a man. and He was only a creature that couldn't stand and he remembers before he forgets all that! I know slipknot personally because they hqave played at our local venue and we jsut asked them there and to get all of you to quit arguing the word is world...not Worm
If you had good ears instead of blaring ur ipods in to ur head u could probably be able to interpret a little better cuz u can hear it in the song.

Im not a big fan of slipknot but...i like this song...it would make sense that its worm...and it would make sense that its world... worm= evolution...and to defend that...he'll call himself a worm if he alerady called himself a maggot...and as for world... abortion comes to mind...i am a world before i am a man...a creature before i can stand...but then before i forget??? how does that come into place?

ok to answer all the questions... the lyrics say world not worm...and the song is about evolution...and if anyone here watched the news or anything they would know that slipknot won a grammy for this song..and now it makes sense world before man..desolate world no one on it..create before i can stand..we evolved from fish and what not.. there you guys go..hope i cleared things up

You know God wants us to try to understand that poeple make mistakes in this world and that he loves you. You know, they might of messed up the lyrics, but that doesn't mean we should be cussin and freakin out because of one mistake. And you, the other guy whose is cussin. The guy you were getting mad at is just another person in this world who makes mistakes. If you are wondering how to get rid of that attitude or not, go to God in prayer. He will forgive you of your sins, and get rid of that attitude. That does'nt mean he will do it in a jipy. But I promise you he will do it, you just have to be pattion. And hey! You know it was just a misunderstanding that it didn't get the lyrics right. No need to be cussin. People make mistakes in this world, and God understands that.
