The Reviews about SCARBOROUGH FAIR (page 2/ 4)
------ performed by Simon and Garfunkel

background lyrics | Reviewer: Petra | 3/27/08

If you listen carefully to the lyrics (of the Simon and Garfunkel version) in the background (they are sung simultaneously with the main lyrics, starting in the second stanza), it talks about a man going to/at war. Any idea of what those lyrics are, where they came from, or what their connection to the song might be?

My life... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/18/08

I grew up wih Simon & Garfunkel - my mother was a folk singer and had a lot of british and american folk music. This song is incredible, a beautiful folk melody. Paul Simon fashioned this version with his massive talent, but the song itself is a traditional folk song of unknown origin.
Anyone who has enjoyed this version should listen to most if not all of Paul Simon's music, especially the aamount he wrote for his partnership with Art G.

ohmigosh i love this song | Reviewer: Brenna | 1/11/08

I'm listening to the Celtic Women version... I'm only mid-teens so obviously I'd never heard of Simon & Garfunkel before until I played this song for my dad after falling in love with it. He told me who the original singers were and I just can't believe how I could love a song so much!

ALTO SINGS.: REMEMBER ME TO THE ONE WHO LIVES THERE.

touching and harmonic | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/11/08

True middle age feeling - imperfect rhyme makes it even more harmonic!!! It sounds almost like a gregorian choral! True pleasure.
Of the songs that give me similar feeling I would think of "Sound of silence".

Scarborough Fair | Reviewer: Brenna | 12/5/07

This song is amazing! There is also a version sang by the Celtic Women, and it's absolutely gorgeous also!

Look it up! =]

This song is absolutely beautiful! | Reviewer: Heather | 11/28/07

I love this song, I think I first heard it about 5 years ago, when I was in my mid teens. I had heard of Simon and Garfunkle, as I'm a big time oldies [50's and 60's] fan, but never listened to anything they had done. But after hearing this song, it made me really want to find more of their music, and listen. Any of their songs are well done, I am most definitely a Simon and Garfunkle fan now. For sure.
