irony of posters | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/12/07
"you shouldn't discredit peoples emotions. people like you make me sick"
Consider that you just did something that in others makes you sick. one poster feels that people have no reason to feel alientated because of where they are born. You discredited those feelings, that perception. Feeling sick yet?
But here's the thing, I agree with you right up to the second to last sentence. Feeling connected with people around you doesn't rely on their physical presence. It relies solely on actually being connected. One is superficial, the other is dynamic. Minimizing that by comparing where a person is born is niave. How about Americans born into the home of a pedophile and rapist? How about Americans who loose a loved one to violence, or their entire family in a car accident. I can keep going - point is comparing one pain to another is a waste of time and actually ignores the work of facing either pain.

sometime you need a little extra help from those special people in your life...u look for it, but just keep waiting. they dont understand you! "be my friend, hold me, wrap me up" "i am small and needy"....its hard to make others understand.___________?

This is the kind of song that can apply to anyone's isolated experience. It isn't about your drug problem, self-injury, or anorexia, so don't assume it. It's the universal isolation & desire for connection the song is speaking to. & that's what makes it good. Because there's no story behind it.
Love it! | Reviewer: Lesley | 11/2/07

you obviously know nothing. people can feel alone even when they are surrounded by 100s. horrible things can happen to people that make them feel like they need to hurt themselves. even not so horrible things can make someone feel that way. sure, there are people out there in the world that have it a lot worse, but that still doesn't change the way you feel. you shouldn't discredit peoples emotions. people like you make me sick

i think this song relates to everyone differently as people relate to life differently and you have no right to tell people how to feel because they might live in the same country as you. if your going to write stuff like that done bother.

sure, go ahead! | Reviewer: van | 10/29/07
common teenage drama. If you live in america, there's no reason to be or feel 'alone'. However, if you live in another country, say a communist, yeah, you might just off yourself in a heartbeat. People sometimes think they got it bad..I say...nah..not really...you have to see the whole world in with your own eyes, then ask yourself, where do you stand? Defenitly not a land mine thats for sure.

it's been a while since i listened to a song that takes me in, captivate me and make me cry. this song is one of the best songs ever by a female artist. i love that she's not famous enough and not so many people know about this song, and her not being famous is making me love her even more, its like it was with Feist, before she got famous i adored her, but now that everyone's listening to her music, i don't know, it's not the same again.

my opinion. its about her thinking that she doesn't belong. so she hurts herself. maybe she is trying to kill herself but too scared.
soo she cutts herselff or takes pills and it turned into an addiction. and she knows that it is all her that's doin it to herself and it hurts even more knowing that she is hurting herself. and i think that she has her family, her friends , her bf but they just don't understand how she feels;how unsafe ; how scared and lost she is.
well pretty much what im goin through.

my point of view is... shes relating of her pain, her anorexia,"i have been here many times before" and how through her disease illness and sickness situacion she is fighting against that and she is asking for help, she feels lonely and lost, shes having a bad time, so do i, so this song is rather sad and tragic, but i love it
Six Feet Under | Reviewer: Diana | 10/20/07
I tracked this song down because of the Six Feet Under series finale. The song was so perfect and heartbreaking - I couldn't get it out of my head!
life | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/24/07
To me it is just about life and how sometimes you get lost in those every day to day tasks and sometimes you can lose yourself. She needs to be awakened back into living, not just existing.

I think it is much more simple. She needs someone to care. She feels alone, weak, vulnerable, and the greatest consolation would just be to have someone, or a particular person, hold her and make it okay.
