hm, I never thought about it like that, but you're right, it does sound like it's about parenthood. I always viewed it from a romantic viewpoint, but now I'm gonna start thinking of it as a father singing about his child. hearing this song start on the radio makes me so happy.

To me, this song sounds like it's about his child growing up. It's a shame more rock bands out there can't be real about parenthood and write a song for their children that they could be proud of, someday. I think 'The Crow and The Butterfly' is an awesome song. Shinedown is an amazing band.
