As I matured I turned away from the religion realizing... who should say which religion is right. I do believe in God but I don't believe that I have to follow a book. I really like this song because it confirms my belief that all religions lead to the same path. It doesn't matter what book you read or what God you pray to...all that matters is that you believe in God and good. However, the answer is God gives us all the choice to do good or to do evil. When evil things happen, it's because of those who choose to do evil rather than good to their fellow human. We can't blame God for our choices or for the choices of our fellow man. Without this freedom of choice we would all be robots. God's will for us is to love one another, but people don't always choose that path. You are shocked with some fairly basic lyrics of a pop song, but not by your leaders taking you to war for oil and money. It makes the point that fighting to protect His honor (who certainly needs no protecting) to impose our view of Him on the unwilling (and each of us seems God differently) is and always has been a major problem for humanity -- and here we are with people hating Shakira and each other in His name, all over again.
