just to clarify for some people, Treblinka was not the the name of someone, but rather was a German extermination camp set up in Poland during WWI.

p.s. my opinion of this song: i love how this is the realistic inner monologue of a young man during the holocaust. it makes it seem very relatable and human because it not only shows him as warm and loving, but also as a hormone filled guy with a wandering mind.

"Nice idea, but the tune and video is way too happy for this type of song." - most survivors of the Holocaust would actually say that rather than thinking about how horrible it was, one should be happy that he/she overcame it and had a fulfilling life despite the horrors he/she lived through. the happy tune is a celebration.

"I don't think the kids used in the video was a good idea either- kind of made a joke about the whole war camps thing" - do you think children weren't affected by the Holocaust? my family members, some as young as fourteen, were forced enslaved by the Nazis in work camps. there was no mercy for children, and although i haven't seen the video, using children does not seem like a bad idea.

"such an experience of being there can't really be written down in music by sum1 who wasnt there. Can someone correct me if they think im wrong?" - look at all the greatest works of historical fiction regarding the Holocaust. almost none were written by Holocaust survivors, but only inspired by them.

This is quite the song. I heard it on the Scrubs Season 6 finale, and thought it was pretty catchy. After doing some more research, I pretty much thought it ruled. End o' story.

The History | Reviewer: Buhhhrito | 12/9/07

This song, if you do some research, is actually inspired by events Max's (lead singer/songwriter) grandparents went through. They were Jews in the time of the Holocaust, and even through such a horrible event they stayed in love.

It was just Max re-imagining, in his own twisted genius, what it was like.

This song puts Max's writing ability on centerstage. This song is a breath of fresh air for the genre. Say Anything is awesome!

The song is about love during the most horrible of times. Max sings of how the Nazis are searching buildings, stomping meadows... And through all that the character is stillin love with this girl, and nothing else but that matters to him at that time.

"I wont let them take you...Hell no, no" is hardely taking the micheal. Even the video is a homage, using young love as an example of how the characters in the song feel about one another.

Its about hope in a time of sdaness and how love can prevail over all.

And i think Max, as a jew and as his parents were sent to concentration camps, would understand that better than you.

Thanks for reading.

Yes, You're Wrong | Reviewer: Aimee | 11/16/07

I love this song. It's really good. Is there any way to better represent pure love than with two children defying the people who tell them they can't be together? I kind of find the video a modern homage to Romeo and Juliet, whether intentional or not, and just because a song's lyrics are serious doesn't mean the tune has to match. If it was all somber and seriousness, would everyone like it so much? I don't know about you, but songs that make me cry don't really get a lot of listens.

Besides, just because they didn't experience the pain of the war themselves does not mean they can't relate or feel the sorrow of it. Human empathy is a great thing.

Hate this song. Nice idea, but the tune and video is way too happy for this type of song. I don't think the kids used in the video was a good idea either- kind of made a joke about the whole war camps thing, and such an experience of being there can't really be written down in music by sum1 who wasnt there. Can someone correct me if they think im wrong?
