Plus ol' Gus was kinda on the right track... the album was originally going to be a story about a guy in college, based on Max, but he scrapped the idea. This song is about the followers of a certain genre... Max was worried his style of music was becoming, in his words "lumped in with a genre that was begging for backlash" he wrote this song about those followers. He later found it ironic that his music became so popular with that very genre... and he lived happily ever after...
