FAAAAAAR OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! | Reviewer: whakaatu pono | 1/12/08

I have listened to this song b4, but, like, wen I was real small. I recently looked up the lyrics and was like, freak out! These guys have a view that could (If every1 believed in them, of course) make the world, very simply, a much beta place. I believe every word of it is true, except the God bit cos Im not religious. But if there was 1, I dont recken he'd endorse tv evangalists. SAVAGE GARDEN ROX!!!!

Re: Danni | Reviewer: Elizabeth | 12/29/07

Danni has hit the stage in which everything must have a deep and complex meaning, and must not be phrased in a way anyone has ever used before. It's actually a very narrow-minded and prejudiced state of being, and I'm always sad to witness it.

It's true that Savage Garden's songs are not, for the most part, complex and profound. However, many of them have strong, positive messages, and Affirmation is a prime example. Some are just light, frivolous pop, but there's nothing wrong with that, either.

In the meantime, Danni might try listening to and reviewing Tool songs instead of irritating the Savage Garden fans.

"I believe beauty magazines promote low selfesteem"

I personally think this problem is greatly underestimated. Beauty ideals are ingrained in our very beings and we all judge on basis of those ideals (the exception confirms the rule). I don't think this is healthy. In the end only kindness matters as far as I'm concerned.

-well it sure makes obvious that you are ugly..

some people! | Reviewer: krizzy | 11/29/07

I can't believe people are commenting and trying to a prove a point to someone else. It's a song. It has lyrics. You either like it, or you don't. We don't need a debate on how the lyrics are true or not, if you like to argue your point across then become a lawyer.

Some lyrics may be true to us, others not. They may be well known sayings and they may not. Seriously, what difference does it make? It's a song that was recorded and released, people bought it, listened to it and enjoyed it. Personally, I am one of those people.

I want this song played at my funeral :)

it's a universal song! | Reviewer: vanos | 11/8/07

A short summary of good things in this small planet you all called earth. I'm sure most of sane people will/would agree with this song. I love the monogamy part, lol.

And I don't complaint unless i could do much better in writing a song.

@ Danni:
It's interesting you think your reality is truth and the rest should be a 'lovely little bubble', as you so cutely put it. I think you'd be surprised as to how big a bubble it actually is. Maybe this song just gets too close to you. Maybe it caused friction within you, with your own values, which may be quite different. Furthermore I'd like to point out that the title 'Affirmation' means 'to confirm' (something which has already been uttered).

I've just read what Danni had to say.

You live in your own little world, I'm sorry. To actually be able to say that straight out and not know what you're talking about makes me laugh out loud. Everything Darren Hayes is not a cliche. Basically because Cliche means A phrase thats so often used it forgets its meaning.

His lines are often used yes but haven't lost meaning. They strike directly to the point. Even the slowest or dumbest of people could figure that out.

These are lines that are A] True B] Reflection of life C] Everyone can relate to them.

Also for the anonymous down there asking if "Abandoning their child is the best thing they knew how to do."

It doesn't matter.
Maybe the parent had their reasons, it doesn't mean the child really is being abandoned for the sake of being a burden upon the parent.

Excuse me? | Reviewer: Charlotte | 10/23/07

Danni: I am sorry but I'm pretty confused? Are you saying you don't like the song?

I think this is a song that actually tells something about the real life. Sorry Danni but who is it that lifes in a little bubble?
And i am not a child but I think it's good anyways..

So Simple | Reviewer: Sarah | 10/14/07

This song is just one of those simple but true songs. You can't always find songs like this, they took the realy facts of life and turned it into something more. When you look at these lyrics and when the song finishes you think ( well i do) "They are right, they got everything spot on perfect like they did a campaign or something" I like this song and I hope it goes on for generations so everyone can know.
