The Reviews about Angel (page 1/ 5)
------ performed by Sarah McLachlan

That hotel | Reviewer: Lauren | 11/18/09

My brand new husband has to be away from me for three weeks at a time, and I can only think of how depressing his hotel room is. He complains about it constantly. This is the one song I can sing well, and when he has to go to sleep in his hotel room, I like to think that he lets go and can be with me in his dreams.

Lovely | Reviewer: Momo | 8/22/09

It's such a beautiful song... I love the first five lines and the lines "sweet madness, and this glorious sadness"... This song means so much to me, in that I went through depression last year, and this song is just so touching and beautiful.

Angel | Reviewer: Dray | 5/29/09

I love this song. It's so sad, and so beautiful... Sarah McLachlan is truly one of the best singers I've ever had the chance of hearing.

As for the actual meaning behind the song, it's not about her alcohol addiction, nor is it about a group of men she'd seen who were heroin addicts.

The song is about the Smashing Pumpkins touring keyboard player Jonathan Melvoin, who overdosed on heroin and died in 1996.

But regardless, I do believe everyone can relate. Everyone has their own meaning within the song, and that's perfectly fine.

Confessions | Reviewer: L. W. | 3/29/09

I always want listen to this song whenever I can. Lately things are looking pretty bad, and there seems like there is no way of making it better. My mom is constantly telling me I am not good at anything. The guy I am practically head over heels for is leaving to make his life better and I know he can do it. But I have a feeling that I won't stay in his life the way I want. It sounds selfish I know, but I really love the guy.
This song to me tells at this moment life sucks. And there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Memories are a part of who we are and they run through you.

Pulled | Reviewer: Jack | 1/29/09

This song can mean a number of things to a number of people. To me it reminds me of my brother. He died in a car accident. The lyrics seem to relate to what he must have felt the few moments he was still alive. The dark cold hotel room is the dark cold street he died on. He was literally pulled from the wreckage already unconcious. I agree with Michelle Roller..the song is what we need it to be. I need my brother to be safe now, in peace, a beautiful release from this world. Praise God he is. I love you brother.

The real meaning | Reviewer: Sabrina | 12/31/08

I purchased her CD on I-tunes where she talks about where some of her songs came from, and this one is on it. Yes, it is about addiction, but not hers. It was about a group of men she had seen who were heroine addicts. I also like that anyone can relate to it, as we all need an escape from reality every now and then. I hate it when people think just because it says 'angel' it's automatically about death. Sarah McLachlan is the best singer ever, I love all of her songs.

In The Arms Of An Angel | Reviewer: Jade Sisson | 12/21/08

This song is about her alcohol Addiction. The arms of an angel is the bottle and the comfort she finds there.
Although she has worded the song, so that what ever situation you are in you can somehow to relate it back to suit you. Awesome song truely amazing!
Love it,
R.I.P Katie Rose.

Angle's arms are around us. | Reviewer: blackmagicwoman | 11/26/08

Thanks a lot for this lyric. I love this song so much. It make me feel close to the angle arm even if I stay alone and feel blue. This song is really encourage myself.

I have read Micheel Roller's review.
Your review make me know the feeling of father and hope. I just feel.I don't know how can I say.... God bless you.

Universal Truth | Reviewer: Sarah Lisle | 11/24/08

I believe this song addresses the moment we all have felt when we wish we had a second chance, when we find ourselves in the depths of regret for something we never did and things we did do. At the moment we wish we had taken a different path, we can find comfort in the arms of the Angel who, even momentarily, will provide the comfort our soul needs to move ahead. The Angel who will wrap our hearts in pure love to give us strength and hope. My love, Robert, was just sentenced to 10 years in prison. May he remember these words and remember Sarah's voice and find comfort from an Angel every night he is out of my reach.

Feelings of Hope & Peace | Reviewer: Michele Roller | 11/9/08

This may be a little long, but I really have to say this all. I am now 65 years old. I have 6 children. Three of them are still active addicts on and off or has been an active drug and acohol addict, and of course always considered as such. I have one son, who is now HIV positive and my oldest daughter is dying from liver disease. Yet, this beautiful song brings all my feelins out and helps me to let myself, for a moment, be the one in the angels arms, so I can find strength and love to carry on. So for each of us, this song, could be about any kind of addiction you can think of. It will fit them all. Or none of them. I take the words like "fly away from this cold hotel room and the endlessness you fear" those words could mean anything you need them to be.
I don't think the words alone are meant to bring you all the message that Magical song has to say. Just really Listen to it as many times as you can and you will find your angel to help you and carry you and bring you comfort. This song brings me Pain, and HOPE. Courage and Love for others who need comfort. I too am having this played at my memorial, which I hope won't be too soon, because it has given me so much inside my soul. I love this song and all it means, for everyone. Because I Know that when the time is right that I will be in the arms of an angel and I will find comfort there.Thank You so much for this beautiful and encouraging song. I
