damian why did you waste your "precious" time that you probably spend talking to 40 year old men on an online rpg looking up lyrics for a band that you hate. seems like ur purty dumb to me. awesome song rise against rules. lyrics are very touching.=P

Opinion | Reviewer: Brendan | 6/24/07

I do believe that this song has more than one meaning. Usually Rise Against puts all of these different images in my head and it is hard to interpret one way but its very inspirational. Best band ever!!

awesome | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/24/07

This is a great song. This is very true about me in the situation im in right now.

Leaving home | Reviewer: AlexCessive | 6/19/07

it's much the same as Like the Angel.
Tim is singing about being on tour and being away from his family so long that they become like strangers to him.
it's quite sad but the reality of a successful musician with a family.
"when home becomes a strange place, I'll follow your voice", here he is saying no matter how stange home seems, he will always return as long as his family is waiting for him.
Brandon actually says in the Generation Lost DVD that he is afraid that his kids will forget dad. ;(

A great song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/1/07

This song could be about anything, but I prefer to agree with the love song advocates. I personally hate it when bands are political in there songs, so I interpret them differently. This song is definently a love song of sorts, because the guy is singing about how he sees this girl and wants her, but relizes she is way out of his league or is already taken. But she haunts him and he wants her to notice him. He is finally noticed and falls in love, finally feeling like he belongs. It is truly beautiful.

What its about | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/30/07

I think its about a guy and a girl who get together and what they have is like really special but then the guy moves and then they try the distance thing but it begins to ruin things so they decide to leave befre they ruin the special thing thay had completly knowing one day they can come back either that or its about trees

I agree dude..Damian you need to get a life bro. I couldn't interpret this song any better than

"I believe this song is about a man who had no good things in life, he found that one girl who made it all so beautiful. ("In fields where nothing grew but weeds, I found a flower at my feet")so he made her, his. Eventually, he was decieved, and realized she needed to be left alone to live her own life. So he returned her, to where he found her. But the pain of losing her still haunts him everyday."

I feel exactly the same way. this is my favorite song on the album.

Can i just ask why you spent your time looking up lyrics for a band whom you hate?...If your actually that sad you need to go out and get yourself a life mate...a new one...one where you can actually appreciate good music (Rise Against, Anti-Flag, The Misfits, Any metal band i can name)

this is gay | Reviewer: damian | 5/23/07

my view | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/12/07

for me this song is about a guy who finds his dream girl and everything is great but something goes terribly wrong and he wants things to be as they once were but at the same time knows that things will never be the same

The last poster is correct. He is describing the process of finding someone incredibly special but once together (taken from the ground) things began to decay and he had to part ways.

That said, she's still the voice in his head.
