It's beautiful | Reviewer: sagara | 4/13/09
I'm 17 and I feel like I'm too young to know what love is, but I'm pretty sure I'm stuck in it with a girl who sometimes hates the sight of me. Sometimes we're friends, others she pushes me away.
Basically this song explains the feelings from the bottom of my heart.
It's all so sad and when I think about it I feel pathetic haha.
Oh well it's a great song listen to it and enjoy.

This is my life exactly | Reviewer: I'd Run To You In a Heartbeat | 3/31/09
So, I'm 16, and love this song. I listened to it the first time, and it just stuck with me. I am in love with my best guy friend, and don't know what to do, especailly since he has a girlfrind. But listening to this song just sooths all my pain. And the line: ''I've got some friends, some that I hardly know
But we've had some times I wouldn't trade for the world'', is so true. My VBFs are fantastical, and I love them so much! Love ya girls!!!! And I would never dream of giving up the memories. So, this song is fantastical, there's really not much more to say...:D
Love it | Reviewer: ashley | 3/27/09
This song is my friends and me all around...But mainly just my one close male friend. The two of use would do anything for each other, and this 'I'll show you mine if you show me yours first'...That's something we've said to each other since 8th grade...Around the middle of 9th grade I got sick and had to leave school for about two months, and in this time he moved away.Knowing that I wouldn't be able to say goodbye really upset me,and I never really got over that...But about three months into 11th grade he came back, and since then we've been glued to each other's hip...So putting it simply if there has ever been a theme song for our relationship this is it.
Watch the music video | Reviewer: Brogan Trull | 3/25/09
This song is amazing and has helped cheer me up multiple times though. If you watch the music video tim mcllrath(rise against's singer) goes through the video picking up friends that tag along. These are all his members of his band. Except for the guitarist that recentally left they are all the same. This song to him is a song about his band and how they are swinging life away
what i think | Reviewer: gus | 3/3/09
this song is good, it reminds me of when i went out with this girl, she ment the world too me (sounds cheesey) and i would do anything to get her attention. i found out by my bestfriend that she thought i was annoying so i ignored her. when the song says "swing life away" it makes me think that just let life do what life does, and it happens for a reason. now cuz of that im more chilled about everything and don't care about anything.
now listen to rise against helps me write new songs and poems about what life is and how to live it. rise against is really inspiring to me and should to others.

when i was 14 i used to love this song, it in a weird way i took it the oposite of its meaning, when it said we could get by just fine here on minimium wage i immplied it as shit money doesnt matter and if your happy, and making minimum wage would get you buy. well now 5 years later. im sitting her in my own apartment working minimum wage, sitting here thinking that my dad kicked me out and i dont have anywhere to turn no place to go for help im stuck with minimal money with more bills than what i make listening to this song. remember what i used to think back when i was 13 , 14 and just depressed praying for the best outcome possible and hoping through all the bad mistakes and sins that god will help me

this describes my life | Reviewer: anonymous | 2/22/09
I just turned 13 and have been in 4 long distance relationships since last june. three of those girls lied to me, 2 cheated and one decieved. I broke up with my most recent the day after valentines day. she had lied about very twisted things and i couldnt take her nonsense. the one that was perfect couldnt stand the distance and so we broke up. this song perfectly describes my life. even the location description. i live in upstate New York and the winters are cold and long and summer flies by. My mom smokes cigarettes and has for 20 years. shes 41. my stepsister smokes cigarettes also. shes 16. shes been smoking since 7th grade. this worries me because they are in danger of serious health problems and can die. in other words, they are "swinging life away" on the addiction. My life is hard, being the bass player in a band, leading 2 paintball teams, and having ridiculous amounts of homework every night. the girls in my school are self-centered and only care about looks and money. im not exactly the best looking but i have the money. but nothing happens which is why i have long distance relationships. but the one i talked about before is amazing. she doesnt realize how much i love her. she has a boyfriend and she is a year younger than me. i would do anything for her. i hope she stumbles upon this and realizes i still love her
I would walk to you, babe. if i was lying, i wouldnt have said all of that up there.
I love you.
great song | Reviewer: anonymous | 2/22/09
I have been in 4 long distance relationships this year. I'm 13. My friends were always calling me strange for choosing the girls far away. All of them lied but one. Two cheated and one decieved me. The other one just couldn't take not seeing me. I wish I could walk to where she was and sing this for her because I'm a wreck. She has a boyfriend, though. My parents are terrible and never believe me. Wanna run away to the girl I love but I can't come to terms with what to do. I wish I was out of school with a car and a house. I would drive for hours listening to this song. My mom smokes and has for 20 years. I'm worried because if she dies, I have to move to a whole other state and I just don't know what to do with my life

''I've got some friends, some that I hardly know
But we've had some times I wouldn't trade for the world''
these heartfelt songs are the reasons i want to write my own. the lyrics are very innocent and playful. though its more 'popular' feel it does not loose its authenticity, and is a true classic
to tom,
thanks for sharing your story, was truly moving
Hits close to home. | Reviewer: Tom | 2/10/09
When I first heard this song, I instantly fell in love with it but it never really hit home, I just loved the sound it had. But a few weeks ago, it really began to sink in.
Recently my life took a turn down a steep slope. My father informed me he might have lung cancer and my mother was diagnosed with diabetes. Of course, both told me and said not to tell the other as to not make them worry. Well, as you could imagine, it was feeling kinda down, really didn't want to do much with anyone.
Right around this time, I got the feeling my girlfriend was avoiding me for some unknown reason. Everything sat in the back of my mind until I just up and broke down one day. A close friend of mine took me aside and talked with me. This friend calmed me down and listened to everything I had to say as I hardly ever vent, which I probably should more often. Anyway, it turns out that my girlfriend was also hitting a rough patch in her life. Her parents were looking for a psychologist for her as they believed she had some form of anxiety or depression. This upset her a great deal and I guess she really didn't want to tell me as she may have felt that I wouldn't want anything to do with her anymore.
Then one day I sat down and heard this song after not hearing it for several months. Then the whole thing just clicked. She needed me as much as I needed her. I was actually kinda freaked out at how well it described the situation.
So far we've pressed onward, and will hopefully continue. I also apologize if this whole thing kinda sounded cheezey :P.
