It has to be one of my favorite songs. The snow refers to being clean and pure like snow. The song is about hardship and the strength that it takes to getting over your addiction. However, Kiedis said himself in an interview regarding the song that it is about how hard it is to escape your life and start a new one. The "tracks" you leave behind are the same tracks you will return to each and every time. Thus, I wouldn't regard the "Snow" as drugs, but rather the escape from drugs. I'm sure somebody is correctly informed but if that information is straight from Wikipedia, I don't know how completely credible that definition is. Reading the lyrics, the first verse seems to allude to drugs. But I like the idea of snow having multiple meanings as the song goes on. At first, snow is cocaine and an addiction to struggle over. Then in the refrain he says "Hey Oh" like he is saying "What's up with that?" Listen to me, that stuff is bad. Don't do it. Come clean and get clean, as clean as actual snow.
