The Reviews about Snow (Hey Oh) (page 1/ 5)
------ performed by Red Hot Chili Peppers

Beloved Song | Reviewer: RoxyWolf | 11/3/09

I first heard this song on the menu screen of the second Death Note song, and went absolutely insane trying to find it. It has to be one of my favorite songs.
I don't necessarily believe it is about drugs, but it may be about escaping them.. regardless, I personally think that the message is that maybe we all want to get away from our troubles and disappear into the clean white snow, to the perfect and untainted world beyond our own..

its not drugs :| | Reviewer: dt | 9/9/09

you all say its about drugs, interpret it how you think. But in an Australian Magazine Keidis stated that the song was NOT about drugs but starting fresh and new. Snow is white, white is pure, white is peace. its not about how close yayo and hey ho sound or anything. But if you strongly believe that the song is about 'past addiction' and how the song got to your soul go ahead, but its not about drugs and that came from the writer himself. I'd believe him over any random person who thinks they know lyrics better than the original creator. your all silly. listen to the song, read the lyrics and make sense of it as 'starting new'.

nice, solid beat. | Reviewer: roundglasskeys | 8/19/09

very smooth, very solid. personally I appreciate the good, strong beat they have going in this song, very steady, very addictive. as we chinese say, very "feng tao" friendly. very headbang friendly. and btw, for good quick downloads, I found that 4shared.com rocks. that's where I got most of these downloads. RHCP is definitely one of the best bands out there.

Snow | Reviewer: canadian~hottie | 7/23/09

The song is definetly about being sober and getting past drugs. The snow refers to being clean and pure like snow. The song is about hardship and the strength that it takes to getting over your addiction. It kinda reminds me of a book called a million little pieces by James Frey, which is about an alcolohic/crack addict who goes into rehab. Awesome book by the way!

Metaphors and other stuff | Reviewer: Purg | 6/6/09

I think the song is (at least to some extent) about drugs. However, Kiedis said himself in an interview regarding the song that it is about how hard it is to escape your life and start a new one. The "tracks" you leave behind are the same tracks you will return to each and every time.

Thus, I wouldn't regard the "Snow" as drugs, but rather the escape from drugs. The snow falls, and conceals your old life so that you can move on with a new one.

meaning to me | Reviewer: heroinshell | 3/24/09

I think its a battle of cocaine and heroin...running through the field where all my tracks will be concealed...i shot heroin for 6 years and i totally relate to that line...that verse hit my soul the first time I heard the song...anytime I jones for the shit I listen to this song and think of River Phoenix or Nikki Sixx

off the hook | Reviewer: Ezzy | 3/11/09

cocaine? | Reviewer: jetson | 12/27/08

I'm wondering where everyone learned that this song is about cocaine. I'm sure somebody is correctly informed but if that information is straight from Wikipedia, I don't know how completely credible that definition is. Reading the lyrics, the first verse seems to allude to drugs. But I like the idea of snow having multiple meanings as the song goes on. At first, snow is cocaine and an addiction to struggle over. Then in the refrain he says "Hey Oh" like he is saying "What's up with that?" Listen to me, that stuff is bad. Don't do it. Come clean and get clean, as clean as actual snow. I don't know, perhaps that is what he means.

fuck | Reviewer: dani G | 7/10/08

I've got a problem with cocaine. Its fucking addicting and I'm a nice kid but I can't stop buying the shit. I have some right in front of me and I'm sweating out on whether or not I should keep doing it. What the fuck dude.
