Good song, but definately not their best. Otherside IMO is probably one of their best songs if not the best.

RHCP isn't the best band ever, but they are a great band. If they haven't already, they should be inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame. I love this song, especially because it was used in the Death Note movie.

i cant believe some people are saying this song is possibly there best. listen to there really old stuff and then say it, dont get me wrong the songs a beast but its nevr the best.

outro solo is a rip off of the main guitar riff of purple haze (jimi hendrix if you're an idiot and didn't know) but overall a good song even though it's been overplayed like crazy, not as good as a lot of the chili peppers old stuff and snow though

I like this song, escecially the ending solo. However, they're old stuff (2000-whenever) is a lot better and they should have left it at that. Yes, i did by their new cd, and most of the new stuff seems to be watered-down of what it once was.

Ok.. this is for all you people who dont understand why this song is possibly the worst song EVER. Tom Petty is one of the best, and most respected songs out there, and all the chili peppers did was take his song and make it faster and change the words. The song has the exact same topic in my opinion, and is in many ways sending the same message, you even get the same feel from it. As far as ever other aspect of this song, it is Mary Janes Last Dance.. same beat and melody. So yeah.. i'll admit its catchy and a good song musically, but thats only because Tom Petty wrote it for them.. thank you and goodbye.

I hear the similarity to 'Mary Jane', but there are worse people to cop off of than Tom Petty...at least they didnt pepper-ize Celine Dion or something. It's a great improvement from their recent songs, considering basically all of those sound the same. Their new albums are quite a few hits short of BloodSugarSexMagik, or even One Hot MInute...but this song is on the same level as 'My Friends', 'Breaking the Girl', 'Under the Bridge', and all that great stuff.

I think the only similarity between Tom Petty's "Mary Jane" and "Dani Cali" is the beginning. They have the same beat,but "Dani" has a faster tempo. And as much as I like both of them I say that you are entirely wrong about Red Hot Chile Peppers ripping Tom Petty off.
