Wikipedia helps alot... | Reviewer: pdgeorge | 4/30/06

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Du_Hast

shows both literal translation, and how they would preffer it to be translated.
they preffer "you hate" because thats the emphasis of the song. You Hate Me.

What the song means. | Reviewer: Aaron | 4/23/06

First of all, the song is called Du Hast, not Du Hasst (idiot below). Second, when he says du hast, it COULD be interpretated as du hasst, which gives the song a double meaning. Third, Du hast mich gefragt, und ich hast nicht gesagt means You have asked me and I have said nothing (the question is a wedding vow). Fourth, the song is about a man taking his wedding vows and saying no, so I wouldn't dedicate it to my girlfriend (lol). Fifth, don't say you know someone who lives or use to live in Germany, therefore you know German. Six, this is an awesome song (Rammstein ROCK).

Corrections | Reviewer: Eric | 2/26/06

It is "You have me." (Hasst=hate)(Hast=have) The lyrics are Du "Hast" Mich.
"Willst du bis der tod euch scheide treu ihr sein fur alle tage" means Do you want, until death separates you, to be faithful to her for all days? German classes pay off. Do not confuse Hast with Hasst. They are 2 different words.

Huh? | Reviewer: Mandi | 12/7/05

I actually have the English Version that was done by Rammestein, and these lyrics are WAY off. I think someone used an online translator. The person that did the correct spelling, good job. I resent some lyrics and forgot about the other spelling. :( I hope to see the real lyrics that I corrected on there soon.

Lyric Clarification | Reviewer: Jörg | 11/29/05

OK. The title is Correctly spelt Du Haßt, or Du Hasst. It does mean "you hate" du hast, the incorrect spelling, does mean you have. When you change the person you say it to, the words change. I.e. Du hasst sounds almost exactly the same, but when you say "i Hate" its "Ich Hasse" vs. "i hate"'s "ich habe". everyone follow? also in correction to the lyrics, you hate me to say and i will not obey-thats not what they mean. its in Deutsch 'Du hast mich gefragt, und ich hast nicht gesagt' (which is improper german grammer of them, but who cares? its rammstein) which means in English "you have asked me a question and i have said nothing"
Keep it real yo. -the Cole
