I believe it was written after Michael Stipe (of REM) told Thom Yorke to say those words to himself, during the 1997-98 OK computer tour, when Yorke (and the rest of the band) were extremely sick of touring.
-I'm not here, This isn't happening-
Heartbreaking | Reviewer: Alex | 4/29/07
a terrifying beautful song,
the only song in my opinion that comes close to capturing
the total numb dread of a disacossiative mind
'im not here, im not here'....
one of three standouts from 'Kid A'
along with 'Idioteque' & 'Motion Picture Soundtrack'
best song ever | Reviewer: broken | 4/24/07

One of Radiohead's best | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/14/07
Absolutely awesome song and I agree with the person who says if you close your eyes while listening to this, you completely disappear. A sublime song in every sense of the meaning.
You'll disappear.. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/5/06
If you close youre eyes and listed to the song. You'll disapear completly, belive me. A very sentimental song. Getts to you when youre disapointed in youre self. Radiohead owns =) // someone from sweden
