I think it describes the swingers party - the (married) couples meet and then the men put their keys in the bowl and each woman gets the man by taking the keys out of the bowl..

I'm assuming this song is about being in an affair with a married woman, but an affair that wasn't very-well-thought-out, hence the 'house of cards' that could crumble at any moment. I also think that the affair in the story was a spur of the moment, giving in to temptation thing that both parties would rather forget ('fall off the table, get swept under' being the succumbing to temptation, and 'forget about your house of cards, and I'll do mine' being forgetting about it).
But hell, what do I know :)

This is the first song i ever heard by radiohead a few months ago. Two months later i now listen to all radiohead albums on a daily basis. Thought i would just comment on how amazing this song is, and on Radiohead as a whole. Keep up the good work guys- you are an absoulte inspiration.

Interpretation:
It's speaking on rushing into relationships, often for the sexual benefit, not thinking about consequences or compatibility. "Deny" the fact that the relationship isn't working and continue through it.
