Radiohead is indeed the best band to walk earth. Their songs are based off the physcological dysfunctions of todays society in the most blissful way to the ear and this song reminds me of a dmt trip i was actually listening to this exact song and it was too intense, the song came alive and i had to put the head phones down and fall on my ass. Idioteque on Exstacy is the shit! physcedelics and radiohead go together like pbj except you are the bread my friend.
In its right place | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/22/08
Haha, when I listened to this song everytime I thought Thom was saying
'yesterday I woke up soaking, only one'
But hey :)
Sucking a lemon is far better ;)
And Radiohead are simply phenominal, I saw them live and they were amazing.

"Music is an art form, there are no rights or wrongs, but you've just slagged off Radiohead, and i want to know what you think is better when you used the comment "i've heard better"... please tell me somebody with a mind who can create such beautiful music... In the ROCK genre..."
Efrim Menuck is far more genius than Thom Yorke, and don't get me wrong, i LOVE Radiohead and they deserve a large audience.
But try Godspeed You Black Emperor! or A Silver Mt. Zion.

i agree with dreamer. you just don't get it if you have to analyze it. it is just beautiful. and its ironic. when you listen, you feel uneasy but beautiful. like everything isn't in its right place but on purpose. it relates to Life itself so well, that things couldn't be in their place. i don't believe that radiohead lyrics have specific meanings, (although sometimes obvious inspiration, like True Love Waits with the newspaper article) but if they did have meanings, i would think it to be this. almost ironic in a beautiful way.
Doesn't Matter | Reviewer: Roscoe | 1/24/08
It doesn't matter what the lyrics are because Thom can say anything and it will sound awesome.
"I decided to paint my house red today, but then it dripped on my pants so I went back inside my house and watched House."
Radiohead could make that into a song.

I agree with g Stans.
The music itself in this song (and almost every Radiohead song) means much more than the lyrics. That's why they're so awesome.
As for this song, I figured it out like this - this song isn't really the first song on Kid A, at least not conceptually. Because the lyrics of Motion Picture Soundtrack, the last track on Kid A, go something like "Red wine and sleeping pills
Help me get back to your arms" etc., which means that the next day, he could have sucked a lemon because of the headache or something.
Or it could be description of a birth. The music suggests it by using the kaos pad.
Seriously.. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/11/08
"i love the use of the kaos pad, but the song itself is not a classic, ive heard much better, the songs is allright the music is allright, but radiohead are awful"
I'm a musican, my gran was a piano teacher herself, taught me theory and piano. at 12 i took up the alto sax, dropped that to pick up a guitar, i also love drums and the rhythmics of music. im now 19. Im an all rounder but the thing i take pride in is my understanding of the guitar... beautiful instrument, no what what style of music its used in
I try to take in influences from ANY style of music, if i don't like a song, i try to find something i like about it, the bass, drums, keys, guitar, a single motif, a phrase, a rhythmic idea...
Music is an art form, there are no rights or wrongs, but you've just slagged off Radiohead, and i want to know what you think is better when you used the comment "i've heard better"... please tell me somebody with a mind who can create such beautiful music... In the ROCK genre... Allan Holdsworth to Radiohead are Black to White... Come on, you really don't see the beauty of music...
you guys are retards | Reviewer: The dude | 12/15/07
This song isnt about drugs, its about the beginning sequence of life. Think about it when your born everything is in its right place. When you come out of the womb your bitter like sucking on a lemon. And when you first come out there are two colors in your head. The whole Kid A cd is about the life cycle that we go through. Just think about it.......
it's what it is | Reviewer: dreamer | 12/2/07
the way i see it is, if you feel the need to actually analyze this song, ya prolly just don't get it. it's not "about" anything. it's a feeling.
everything has its right place | Reviewer: Sam | 12/3/07
the wonderful thing about radiohead is that they are able to capture life and all its infinite complexity in their music. They know what they're doing. Maybe the reason why they make music is because they want different interpretations. This song is perfect for the opening of Kid A. It makes me feel like i'm in the right place.
I am almost posative that they were tripping when they wrote this album, but then again, i want to believe that radiohead's genius isn;t derived from drugs
