In my opinion this song is about LSD
someone who gets the the chance should listen this song while tripping
the lyrics could also point to that explanation althouhg I've began to doubt since I read all the reactions but still:
Everything in it's right place; most people when under influence of acid have a strong sense that everything is cohessive ( emotional and rational)
Yesterday I woke up suck in a lemon; lemon=acid=lsd... More explanation needed?
There are two colours in my head; this does not entirely fit but the perception of colours change when tripping
What's that you try to say? ; it's hard to have conversation when under the influence of acid. When you try to speak you know what you want to say but it just doesn't come out right. When someone else speaks it's also hard to understand.

This song is about everything ad nothing. Radiohead lyrics are poetry. The specific meaning depends on the ear that's hearing it. Everything is a matter of perception based on your own idea or ideal of reality. This song reminds me of scenes in movies like magnolia when it's all chaos but timing is
everything! Like a great mystical dance that has rhyme and
reason but we don't understand or know why.
Life... The movie inside the movie. The beauty is where

Unlike the common belief, this song does not point towrds any mental issues...everything in its right place, refers to the new found stability, between the 2 colors (2 sides of any psyche Left brain, which is more logic based, versus the right brain which is the emotional side)

I think this song is about the idea of things working out and saying what you need to say, or saying something wrong and living with your decisions and just being okay with "what is"... like everything happens for a reason. I haven't really decided on the lemon part but I think it might mean that he said something he kinda regrets, but that its all gonna be okay and everything is still in it's right place. (also i used to think he said "yesterday i woke up soaking, all alone" ha)
As for the "what was that you tried to say" part I think he is encouraging people to just say it, and also his tone and the volume of it and repetition represents frustration about people holding everything in

I used to listen to this song when I delivered papers, and I was always like "what the hell is he saying? it sounds like I woke up sucking on a lemon but it makes no sense". but now that I see the other lyrics too it makes much more sense. I agree that it seems to be about trying to find some mental stability "everything in its right place".

I think this song it's about stability, a mental stability, "Everithing in it´s right place" i think he is refering about the life, the things, the people, if you are a bad person you recives bad things, for example! jejeje, And " Yesterday i woke up sucking a lemon" i think he said yesterday, not today, yesterday he was depressed but not now,, And i agree your interpretation about "There are two colours in my head" He view the life across two different perspectives.

I think this song is about depression and other mental problems.
"There are two colours in my head." This reminds me of a side effect of bipolar depression (and other types too) which is that you only see the world in one colour or the other.
For one of my friends it was either blue when they felt ridiculously happy or grey when they felt really sad.
"Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon." is metaphorical because Yorke is creating the image of how washed up he looks when he wakes up because he's not happy. (sour looking like a lemon i guess.) This also maybe shows that he's no longer looking after himself, which can happen with depression (you stop seeing the point in looking after yourself.)
'What, what was that you tried to say?' I think that's referring to how when you're depressed everything seems like an effort and soon you stop bothering with even some of the most basic needs and completely switch off to your surroundings.
I'm not sure about the everything in its right place stuff, but it sort of reminds me of OCDs. Perhaps he is saying that
That's just my opinion though, to be honest I'm much happier to just listen to the song. I find it peaceful.

A lot of people are saying that the lyrics aren't as important as the music, but I'd beg to differ. Although the lyrics are fairly sparse it works with the music to give off the mood that Thom (at the time suffering from depression) feels like crap (if you wake up "sucking a lemon" you're waking up looking terrible), as he thinks he should. When he's down everything's in its right place.

I think this song is about how you try to convince yourself that everything's in its right place, that nothing goes wrong. But, it seems like you are not really convinced that everything's in right place, so there's this debate on your head that, on one time it's all right, on another, it's not. I think this really goes with Vanilla Sky.

how funny that we almost all thought about something different instead of "yesterday i woke up sucking a lemon" - i believed he said "yesterday i woke up soaking, i lived on" which is good, but not as good as the lemon bit.
and with the lemon bit now everything falls into its right place.... and makes sense, at least for me: i think this lyrics mean that what he has in his head makes or has to make more sense than what he can hear or feel coming from the world outside, which is always confusing... "yesterday i woke up sucking a lemon" means i woke up feeling disgusted, or in a bad mood, bitter and acidic... then he goes on with the everything in its right place - then the two colours (controversy) and "what is that you try to say" implies "you are trying to explain yourself but youre not making sense to me", which is confusion, but again, everything in its right place. its about trying to have an inner balance when all what you get from outside is confusing and you dont feel related to it. sanity?
anyhow, the cool thing about the confusing and abstract lyrics of radiohead is that you can make your own conclusions and come up with your own meaning, although, i think, they are pretty much about, as someone said, psychological states. cause what are we, human beings, but a bunch of materia and psychological states...
oh and the music. god, isnt it amazing how radiohead melodies stand by themselves alone... actually, if radiohead was just an instrumental band they would be as good as they are, maybe less popular, but just as good. although i love thom yorke's voice and i rather have it as it is!
great radiohead, most complete band ever!
