Queen has got to be one of the greatest bands, if not the greatest band, of all time. They have such a distenguishable style that you can automatically recognize as their work of genius as soon as you hear it for the most part. This song is certainly no acception to that comment; the lyrics are catchy, funny, and the tune is soft then quick so that it gives you the feeling he's talking out front to someone and that every other line is thought to himself inside his mind about what he really thinks and wants. It's clear that the person supposedly singing it is supposed to be a man who's great with girls because most people I know, myself included, really DO want a good old fashioned lover boy.

The vocals on this piece of genius from Queen don't disappoint in the area of hoping that it's going to be as catchy as all of the rest of their works. Even in the moments of pervertedness it manages to- somehow or other -keep its air of romantic sweetness (what bit it has at least.) The tune, as well as the rhythm and rhyme scheme, is very well done to make it almost as catchy as that of Nightwish's song "Slaying the Dreamer" or Rammstein's songs "Bang Bang" and "Ich Wille." (By the way those two are wonderful bands as well so check 'em out if you get time.)

Overall, this song is every bit as good as the rest of their works and goes to prove, once more, that Queen isn't just a serious band with some serious mental issues on a few of their songs (*COUGH*Body Language & Fat Bottomed Girls*COUGH*) but is definitely a band that most older kids, teenagers, and adults would probably enjoy listening to whether it's to have a good laugh, kick back and relax, or just sing along to have some fun. That, and the songs are great to sing along in the car with the radio to; just don't run that red light while you're listening to them, huh? Pay attention to the road because even a great band like Queen and a great song like "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy" isn't worth going to jail over.
