When i listen to Pink Floyd i become seperated from every thing around me.
Totally involved in the music. When they released the Wall i listened to it about ten million times. I figured thats it they have reached there peak. But when they release "On the Turning away". MAGIC thats all i can say.

Be in peace not in pieces | Reviewer: Mo | 1/6/12

One of the best songs and lyrics ever been written by anyone in the music world. I grow up with floyd music, I am 61 now and every time I listen to their music, I get tears in my eyes and chocked throat memorizing all those wonderful nights and days and many moments I spend listening to them. The lyrics of any of their songs are a MUST paying attention to.
After more then 40 years of floyd, the feelings and the love for them are still fresh as new and it will last until the end of time.
For those who's interested to know, I have seen them in 1976 in Hyde park London England, four times in Toronto Canada between 1980's to 2008 , Amazing time!

Overall , It has been 20 years that I am listening continously to Pink floyds song since I was a little boy and all the times , when I am hearing back to any songs thousands and thousand time , I found some thing totally new about the kind of inspiration which they used in their songs.

Long live Pink floyd from the heart of Middle east ,I am conveying a warm regards to all of you. Love you Roger , seed , David , Nick and Ricky

Sadly misused | Reviewer: J.T. | 10/22/10

All over the internet and school I hear about how PF is such an accompaniment to weed and acid and ecstasy and stuff like that. The sad thing is, the lyrics and ideas are well written, perfectly sung, and greatly emphasized through metaphors. Anyone paying attention could be a great man just by listening, and it makes me sad to hear that so junkies use this for fun and shit. That's just BS.

One's heart is warming up to the sight of so many of us appreciating this song. (I have seen Gilmour sing it on stage for five times) One of my favorite songs ever. But I also have seen "The Tide is Turning" few times. Let me tell you something: at first I was as dissapointed about Waters' leaving the band as anyone could be. But whatever they have done separately since, showed me that we are all richer for this break up. Love'm all and God bless them!

Wow.. this song just speaks to me in such a way.. wow, I'm just amazed by this song, but was expecting this- I mean, it's Pink Floyd, after all. Creators of instant-classics, as well as the most elegant music known to man.
Ahh.. such a beautiful song..

Missed opportunity | Reviewer: KBc | 3/10/10

I attended my first Floyd gig in 1974 and love this song as much as anything PF have done since. However, I have one great regret about it:
When the band got back together for the Live 8 concert in Hyde Park, playing it would have been the ultimate statement, not only condemning the (supposedly) civilized world's exploitation of third world resources, but also shaming its abandonment of the poor, weak and helpless in its own back-yard. I fervently hope that the band will get another chance to put the omission right.

Fabulous song! | Reviewer: Diana Andrews | 11/2/09

I have always loved this song, but never knew all of the lyrics. In an age when people seem to be more and more selfish, and stridently so, we need more and more wisdom like this to remind us that we are all brothers and sisters, all over the world, and we cannot ignore those less fortunate than ourselves.

I just used this song as part of a "remake" soundtrack for To Kill A Mockingbird for a school project and I have to say, it is truly amazing. I have always liked Pink Floyd and this is one of their most inspirational songs.

Don't Turn Away | Reviewer: Karla H. | 12/6/07

If you listen to the words carefully and still don't feel motivated to help the poor and homeless then you aren't listening with your heart.
This song speaks to all who's hearts haven't turned to stones yet.

TIMELESS AND EMOTIONAL | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/30/07

I have listened to this song for a long time, it is without a doubt one of my favourite all time songs - words just cant do it justice, anyone who reads this and hasnt heard it just needs to sit comfortable in a dark room - close their eyes and let the music take them away!! Very meaningful also in respect of the "one world" theme. something to be aware of.....

this and all pink floyd song don't makes us forget it is a remainder of how fuckd up is this world, its a remainder on how dark humans souls became
it just makes me feel better knowing that those greats minds think as I do

Just a beautiful song | Reviewer: Scott | 8/19/07

This is such a great and kind of "lost in the shuffle " Pink Floyd song that is wonderful to hear when you remember it. It falls into the catigory of, "Damn, I wish I'd wrote that." Its another testiment to the fack that Floyd did great without Waters.

greatly put together | Reviewer: mike jenkins | 8/2/07

i recently been adding more Pink Floyd to my music collection. David Gilmour is one of my favorite song writers, the songs they write is very moving. i hope that all who listen to it are just as moved and can appreciate the value of songs like this
