I know Pink Floyd since 1987, when I saw the show Delicate Sound of Thunder. I simply loved "Comfortably Numb". Afterwards I started to know more Pink Floyd and this song is one of the best ones from the old times. A rare jewel, a classic forever!

This song or rather this band has been passed down to me by my Aunt and Father. When I was just five and didn't know very much music, I knew I liked this band (and of course, Britney Spears. But THAT'S another story).
This is an absolutely amazing song.
The two simple words(Hey You) are used in an almost sarcastic way and when blended with the mellowly hypnotizing tune, the product is an irrestible classic.

Although I am pianist, playing classical music and writer, since I was child I was listening to this music. Especially this song,my parent`s favourite, it is more then great. If people only could be as deep and thoughtful now!Pink Floyd was so much before their time! Love this music and lyrics!

There's only one descreption for this song - INDESCRIBABLE!!! I'm really sorry for people who have not heard it yet!! This one, "Shine on You crazy Diamond", "High hopes" (and many-many other songs and albums, if not all the ones from Pink Floyd) are masterpieces that will live FOREVER!!
definitely. | Reviewer: Dan | 8/26/07
Completely agree. Great lyrics, brilliant (mind blowing) guitar solo, excellent melody and is great within the context of the album.

A musical masterpiece that encompasses several emotions throughout its enitrety. Very simple on the instrumentals, yet very thought-provoking lyrically. In context of "The Wall", this song fits nicely as the first song of the second disk chronicling the arduous experiences of the protagonist, however, this song was not used in the film. As a single, this song would contain much less meaning.
Personally, I love this song; the last line, "Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all/together we stand/divided we fall" was used as my high school Senior Quotation.
