In context of "The Wall", this song fits nicely as the first song of the second disk chronicling the arduous experiences of the protagonist, however, this song was not used in the film. As a single, this song would contain much less meaning. Personally, I love this song; the last line, "Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all/together we stand/divided we fall" was used as my high school Senior Quotation.
