The Reviews about Echoes (page 2/ 15)
------ performed by Pink Floyd

Because I must say.. | Reviewer: Astronomy Domine | 6/16/09

My first Floyd experience was Dark Side of the Moon, which is always a classic, but after hearing Echoes through their concert in Pompeii (wasn't it so badass that they played there?), I truly appreciated their harmony and their affinity with human desire. Pink Floyd will always live.

Floyd. THE band of all time. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/11/09

Floyd never failed to have a certain effect on me. Every album they released I’d rush out and get it at the first opportunity, get home, put it on and think, hmm, that was disappointing. Then next time I listened I’d think, actually, it’s not as good as I thought it would be, but it’s not bad. Next time I’d think holy crap this is excellent!

2 of their masterpieces, and only 2 didn’t have that effect. I fell in love with them the very first time I heard them and I never grow tired of hearing them. Echoes and Atom Heart Mother.

Floyd didn’t just write some of the best music of all time, they created memories that will always re-surface when we hear their tracks. And not one Floyd track holds bad memories for me.

Thanks to you guys, I hear you and I have the best memories imaginable.

Pink Floyd Masterpiece: echoes | Reviewer: Purple Dragon | 6/10/09

It is because of this song that I fell in love with music from Pink Floyd. This band truly knows how to create incredible music.

My love of music was originally heavy metal...but after listening to Pink Floyd, they showed me the "meaning" of true music.

One of the top 10 bands/One of the top 25 songs | Reviewer: watergoblin | 5/26/09

I've always compared Waters and Gilmour to Lennon and McCartney. The Beatles pushed the envelope of pop music to a place that left other songwriters and musicians with their heads spinning. Floyd, I believe (my opinion, folks!), took it another level upwards. Poetic vision of such eclectic taste, coupled with musical panarama that never, ever loses its ability to transport you away. This song is one of their masterpiece attempts at explaining through song the human condition. And I never get tired of hearing it.

Gilmour has more soul in his little finger than alot of the so-called guitar gods of today! (are there any?)

Timeless Echoes | Reviewer: Buckethead | 4/29/09

As I write this review I'm listening to Echoes as performed by the great David Gilmour's Live at Gdansk. Still amazing to listen to after all these years. I started listening to Pink Floyd around 1972. I've been an avid fan of everything they did ever since. But I can still remember the first night I listened to Echoes. It was winter, very cold outside and I had the lights off in my bedroom as I laid in my bed with Echoes playing on my record player. After almost 37 years I will never forget the surrealistic experience I had that evening.
Pink Floyd has always been, and always will be, one of my most favorite bands. I still listen to them to this day. Perhaps not as much as back then but they will always hold a special place in my heart, my mind, my very soul.

Magnificent | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/22/09

Man, this song really changet everything i knew about music. When my father (who is, by the way, a great fan of the Floyd) showed me Time and Money for the first time, i thought it was shit and i'd better keep up with Iron Maiden and stuff like that. But when he showed me (after we discussed, because i wanted to see visions of the beast instead) the Live at Pompeii, i totally got addicted to Echoes Part one, like, i watched it again and again and again... It's one of my favourite songs ever, with also Hey You, Nobody Home and In The Flesh.

The One Band That Captured It All | Reviewer: Mr. Mystery | 4/16/09

Isn't this exactly what music is supposed to be about? Capturing the feeling, the mood, emotions and the groaning of time and the world? All I can say is Pink Floyd is the one band who seemed to capture it all and distributed it all back to us on their albums and through their live shows. I can only strive to accomplish the amazing feats these guys succeeded in.

possible allusions | Reviewer: Pedro | 4/7/09

I realized that R. Waters may have alluded to Coleridge's The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner (which is a beautiful poem itself) with the first lyrics. "The albatross hangs motionless upon the air." Notice how the albatross happens to Hang, motionless, in the air. Could be possibly interpreted as a cloud of regret and remembrance of sins and wrongs in the writer. All in all. I LOVE PINK FLOYD!

Floyd tops | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/8/09

I first received Dark Side of the Moon for Christmas when I was 13. I spent the next two months of my life wrapped up in it, blasting it as loud as I could, whenever I could. I'm 17 now and have several bootleg recordings of PF, 2 of which have Echoes as the encore. The first time I heard it, I thought I knew what to expect--I was wrong. 23 minutes later I was almost physically exhausted from the trip I'd just taken. Pink Floyd is great at taking you on musical journeys, and Echoes may just be the most amazing journey of all.
