------ performed by Pink Floyd
meaning | Reviewer: tc | 3/8/09
this song is obviously about doing heroin
(Come on, now, I hear you're feeling down.
I can ease your pain
Get you on your feet again.....
O.K.
Just a little pin prick.
There'll be no more aaaaaaaaah!
But you may feel a little sick)
easing pain=doing drugs
pin prick=shooting up heroin
feeling a little sick= ppl get sick after when they do heroin
quite simple | Reviewer: ABOMB | 2/13/09
Its acually quite simple and doesnt need any interpretations. Its well known that Syd Barrett had completely lost it. In Floyds last shows with Syd he would be completely out of it, so a doc would come in and give hime drugs to "keep him going for the show"

This song is one of Pink Floyds best. It is a well written song which can mean something different for each individual listener, as all good songs should be. It is best not to try and work out what the band wanted it to mean, just enjoy it!
The song is about... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/24/09
This song is about the downfall of Sid Barrett, his drug induced paranoia and his eventual complet collapse and his self removal from the human race. He became a hermit, living in the cellar of his mothers house until that day he died one late afternoon in 2008.
dealing with spousal abuse | Reviewer: rld | 12/11/08
what the song meant to me, back when I WAS MARRIED to a verbally abrusive spouse, who screamed in my ear about everything under the for no reason other than she could without finding herself on the floor unconcience. Nothing I did pleased her. In fact it only made her more abrusive. One day we were in the car when Comfortably Numb came on the car radio Thats when I realize Her screams and shout and threats of leaving me no-longer bothered me. After all I had become "comfortably numb".
its really comfortably numb | Reviewer: mounir sleit | 11/29/08
i believe that song talking about between the pain and sick and the remedy to feel okay,,just it givig a sign to druging yourself by looking at the horizon...its an ocasion to do that but anyway we have become a comfortably numb in all way...
what this song is really about | Reviewer: Pink | 11/15/08
what this really about is that pink floyd was angry atthere fans for just coming to there concerts just for the parties thus they created the wall witch was supposed to separate them from the audience this song talks about all the deppressing stuff
Step away from the microscope | Reviewer: lopees | 11/3/08
i agree 1000% with Breanna. Music in itself is intended to be admired for its "natural beauty," if you will. Picking it apart and over-analyzing it simply destroys the elegance and mystique the the songwriter(s) was trying to convey. While it is only human nature to try and figure out what songs are about, running them through a fine-toothed comb and trying to decipher individual lines and phrases, each of which can mean one of 7,000,000 things, will only demonstrate how little you actually know about the song, artist, band, and music in general. As Breanna said, being that we didnt write the song, we will never truly understand it, and we were never intended to.
Breanna, if you don't mind me borrowing your words, people who try to interpret music don't really get the music, otherwise they'd just be enjoying it as it is meant to be.

So apparently no one knows what this song is intended to mean, and really who cares. nonetheless it's an incredible song. Epic solos and bass line; need i say more. its my number one fav. i "highly" recomend it.
Damn. | Reviewer: Maggie | 9/13/08
This song is amazing in every single aspect.
Pink Floyd is amazing in every single aspect.
And yes, this song could mean so many different things, but that's part of what makes it good.
This song is just amazing.
