The Reviews about Another Brick in the Wall (Compliation) (page 3/ 4)
------ performed by Pink Floyd

So true song | Reviewer: Tobias | 12/29/07

I don't like school for the reason they're holding us back, one has to fit in, everybody shall fit into their little box, preferably we should be clones, that's why i hate school, and an education shouldn't be compulsory...

True | Reviewer: tim | 12/23/07

I think that the song makes a nig point in our society because as a kid myself, many teachers are trying to make us learn stuff wedont need. the keep us in a cage...like puppits

I kinda think that the Wall refers to strutural violence, any action that keeps people (kids, adults, anybody) from achieving their fullest potential. The public school system, as my new teacher wife is finding out, specializes in putting up walls around kids.

You, Yes You, Stand Still Ladies!* When we grew up and went to school, there were certain teachers who would hurt the children anyway they could by pouring their derision upon anything we did exposing any weakness however carefully hidden by the kids. But in the town it was well known When they got home at night their fat and psychopathic wives Would thrash them within inches of their lives! ooooooooo, oooo, oooooooo, ooooooooooo, ooooooooo, ooooooooo, ooooooooo, oooo. We don't need no education We don’t need no thought control No dark sarcasm in the classroom Teachers leave them kids alone Hey! Teacher! Leave them kids alone! All in all it's just another brick in the wall. All in all you're just another brick in the wall. (A bunch of kids singing) We don't need no education We don’t need no thought control No dark sarcasm in the classroom Teachers leave them kids alone Hey! Teacher! Leave us kids alone! All in all it's just another brick in the wall. All in all you're just another brick in the wall. Spoken: "Wrong, Guess again! Wrong, Guess again! If you don't eat year meat, you can't have any pudding. How can you have any pudding if you don't eat year meat? You! Yes, you behind the bike sheds, stand still ladies!" [Sound of many TV's coming on, all on different channels] "The Bulls are already out there" Pink: "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgh!" "This Roman Meal bakery thought you'd like to know." (A bunch of kids singing) We don't need no education We don’t need no thought control No dark sarcasm in the classroom Teachers leave them kids alone Hey! Teacher! Leave us kids alone! All in all it's just another brick in the wall. All in all you're just another brick in the wall.

Wrong, guess again!! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/17/07

There are so many teachers like this...I'm a teacher and I try not to be that way. Teachers I had when I was studying didn´t understand us;so I try to understand my students...

Love it | Reviewer: Sam | 9/29/07

this is an inspiring song. Reynoldburg high school (located east of columbus, ohio) just made it school policy to have a uniform. They make us wear are school id's around our neck. They are also very anal about everything. This song really got me thinkin to do something about it.

Thank you pink floyd.

I think it's great young people are rediscovering songs from my generation thanks to groups like Korn, but before you choose your anthem, understand it. This is not an anti school or anti teachers song, but rather a song against those certain select teachers who just continue, year after year, to build walls around the generations. The wall is not just built by those teachers, but also by parents, clergy, police, even librarians - anyone who wants to force you to be "like everyone else" with no independent thought - no difference.

This theme was rampant in the 60's and 70's and in many forms. But seldom was the song an over generalization saying everyone "over 30" was bad.

Another song you might enjoy is Malvina Reynolds' Little Boxes, more of a folk song.

Little boxes on the hillside, Little boxes made of tickytacky
Little boxes on the hillside, little boxes all the same
There's a green one and a pink one and a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same.

And the people in the houses all went to the university
Where they were put in boxes and they came out all the same,
And there's doctors and there's lawyers, and business executives
And they're all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same.

And they all play on the golf course and drink their martinis dry,
And they all have pretty children and the children go to school
And the children go to summer camp and then to the university
Where they are put in boxes and they come out all the same.

And the boys go into business and marry and raise a family
In boxes made of ticky tacky and they all look just the same.

Teachers leave them kids alone. | Reviewer: Bianca | 7/20/07

I typed out the chorus to this song and put it on my Graphics teacher's desk. I can only imagine what they think! LOL, I'm going to try and find more revolutionary songs about no school and put them on their desks. Anyone got any ideas? Email me if you do!

Love,
