One of the best who withdraws from the music business... | Reviewer: Daniel Blanchet | 8/18/09

Too bad so sad to learn that one of the best - one more - who withdraws from the music business, after a succesfull tour with his old pals from Genesis that kept them busy for the most part of the year, he realized that he doesn't want to do it all over again.

Yes, it's sad because Phil is one of the best drummer of all time, a really good singer and one hell of a performer on stage, he is also a good human being, nice and easy to get on with. Recently, we lost Rick Wright from Pink Floyd after a long stuggle with cancer, also Bill Bruford of Yes and King Crimson who also retired from public performance - those were his exact words -... None of us are getting any younger, right, so those guys need to focus on what is mostly important to them at a certain point in their life, their families, their health, things that the sex, drugs and rock n' roll dream cannot give them. Speaking of health, reminds me of Rick Wakeman who went through a heart attack that kept him in a hospital bed for almost a year, where he wrote the magnificent album " Myths and legends of King Arthur ", and also Keith Emerson who went through a difficult phase of recuperation after a couple of important surgical operations in his wrists, he even thought that he might never play again.

Let's wish Phil Collins a great time in his new life, may he find what makes him a happy and healthy man, thank you Mister Collins for more than forty years of superb music, with Genesis as well as a solo artist. We love you.
