The Reviews about Worldwide Suicide (page 1/1)
------ performed by Pearl Jam

Pearl Jam carries the mantle | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/15/2008
I am grateful Pearl Jam has continuously been a vocal and informed critic of the war. This isn't the Vietnam War era and there isn't an anti-war generation in the streets. But Pearl jam has a lot to say to anyone who wants to listen.

Pearl Jam gathers no moss. Their music shows how tight they can be. Scott McCready really does rank among today's guitar greats. Listen closely and you will hear some intense and evolved riffs. And then there's Eddie's voice; one of the great male voices on the rock / pop / grunge scene today. He's used that voice in so many constructive ways but it's best know for his anti-war stance.

They are a great band but uf you dislike WW suicide, skip to "Marker in the Sand." Some of Eddie's best lyrics.

to each their own, etc? | Reviewer: steven | 12/15/2007

I'll write this one in numbers so I can keep track of what I've said:
    1. At first I considered this song to be nothing more than OK. After witnessing it live a few times, I've come to thoroughly enjoy it. I think it's a terrific song, with just the right kind of aggression and music. The words are good. I think they're not Vedder's best, but there are quite a few super-good lines there.
    2. That said, I think that everyone in the world is entitled to hate this song, just as much as I'm entitled to love it.
    3. However, telling PJ to just die already is quite an exaggeration, is it not?

How Dare You | Reviewer: Sean | 7/25/2007

That Anonymous prick is too afraid to post his name so that I can personally hate him for putting down a song he probably doesn't even understand. I hope that coward hears this.
And by the way this song kick ass and puts things into perspective concerning the Big people making soldiers fight their war and then claiming the credit. Pricks.

    Die, Please | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/19/2007

I used to be alright with pearl jam (old stuff that is) until i heard this song. This song is horrid and haggard, Now even when I hear their old music It reminds me of this shit, now i cant listen to any pearl jam without it reminding me of this terrible song.

Great song on an even greater album | Reviewer: Jason | 7/18/2006

World Wide Suicide is an awesome song about current events, specifically about the Iraq War, and how it affects everyone in the world today. Read the lyrics and see for yourself. The new self-titled album by Pearl Jam that features this song is their best album in years, but if you're like me, you may not think so right away. As a matter of fact, after hearing the album the first time, I wasn't impressed at all. I liked a couple of songs, and didn't really care for the rest. But I kept thinking about it -- certain lyrics stuck out in my head, and several of the tracks have catchy melodies and guitar hooks. And it was just enough to make me want to listen again, which made me pick up on more elements I liked, which made me listen again, etc. etc. So it's definitely an album you have to grow into, but once you do, you'll love it! Buy it and enjoy...
