I am now 34, almost 35 and this song is still my favourite song ever. It is the only song that I have listened to a millions times, whether on CD or singing it in my head and still absolutely love it. When I first heard this song, I instantly became a PJ fan. Eddie Vedder's voice alone made me tremble, the passion that he has singing this song still gives me chills....I too have been lucky enough to hear him sing this song live in concert more than once....Even my wife has turned to PJ because of this song, thanks to me.........it is the most powerful song I have ever heard..not just the lyrics but again Vedders voice and delivery....u can feel his pain.....especially at the end when he says 'I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be the star, in somebody else's sky, but why, why , whyyyyyyyyyyy, can't it be, can't it be mmmmiiiiiiiiinnnnneeeeee........and then the feeling in the end when he (screams) in the last minute off the song from the pain he is obviously feeling........this song, will be my favourite til the end..... 15 years later | Reviewer: Daz | 5/22/08 I first heard this song when I was 19 years old.
