It's about Lennon. | Reviewer: Tapioco | 12/23/09

This song clearly talks about John Lennon.
Expecially when it says "I had enough of your familiar song" and "There was a time when every day was young" and "we sang along when all the songs were sung believing every line".
And, clearly, this is a song about friendship, not love for a woman.
It seems so clear to me.

An emotional distillation | Reviewer: Chris Ruff | 2/15/09

If I wrote this from Paul's position I would be talking about the two main detractors in his life (that we know of) John and Mills. I see both in these lyrics. Sometimes when writing down things, various experiences can be melded in. In my opinion, of course.

I started listening to this at work. I've been married for 30 years but good actually hear my husband singing a couple of lines to me. I thought about when I saw Paul in 2005. This was right be before the break up and when this CD came out. This is for Heather. He tried his best, he tried at friendship, but Heather was riding of to Vanity Fair(can't you feel it's her) all the way to the bank.

John has been gone a while. I think he's but these things to bed, the John/Paul conflict. Let's hope so.

This song is directed to John Lennon who attacked Paul, every chance he could. This album was made when he was still married to Heather.

You really actually velieve that?
It's directed at Mills.
While married he claimed it was targeting the tabloids. As he still had to live with her he had to say that.

It's obvoius as hell - it's to Mills..........

This song not about Heather Mills. About John Lennon. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/2/07

Paul's kiss off to Heather | Reviewer: Victor Patterson | 8/15/06

It's clear in the breakup of Paul McCartney's marrage who this song was directed to; Heather Mills. Sir Paul isn't known for writing downbeat songs - he admits to this and originally this song was written with a much faster tempo, but the producer realized that it needed to be slowed down to work. It's not a great song, but it is certainly interesting.
