My Essay about this song | Reviewer: Dbones | 8/18/09

If I had to pick one song to sum up the way I feel about life, it would have to be “Born with Nothing Die with Everything,” by Papa Roach. This song means so much to me, because on a bad day, when I’m struggling, I put this song on, and it gives me strength to keep going. The song basically tells you, “If you are fed up, and tired of being let down by other people who are holding you back, you need to forget them and take care of yourself.”
The lyrics start out saying “Fed up, Tired, Sick and twisted. One man army, I’m enlisted. Trust yourself, Trust no one else. Forget the hero, be yourself. I don’t need your lousy hand out, Clinched fists I’ll fight my way out.” These lines have always had a very strong influence on me because I’m always feeling like other people are holding me back from where I want to go in life. When I listen to this song, the first twenty seconds make me feel like I’m back on track, and that no one can stop me from achieving my goals.
The song continues on to the chorus which says “People wake up and sing along. I trust no one. My trust is gone. Born with Nothing, Die with Everything.” Listening to this song taught me not to rely on anyone. It taught me that you have to make your life to be how you want it, and that you choose your own attitude on life. No one can stop you from making it to the top. If you want something bad enough, you’ll find a way to get it.
The song’s writer/singer, Jacoby Shaddix, was born into an abusive home where his parents didn’t take good care of him. He took from this experience, one thing that would help him to mold his life to the way he wanted it to be. Don’t rely on anyone else, and fight your way to your dreams. Everyone is born with nothing, but they must fight their way to die with everything.

Awesome, the first song I heard of Papa Roach | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/14/05

Great riff at the beginning, great lyrics in all the song. The band manages to make a catchy song without sounding pop and besides they give a powerful message.
