A song that screams for a difference | Reviewer: sam | 10/20/09
Why don't we make that difference? Why don't we stand up for what we KNOW is right, instead of sitting cowardly in the corner watching bad happen right in front of us. I would rather die knowing I was doing something righteous, than reflecting back on all the times I COULD have done something. I've always been the kid who stuck up for others, no matter who was saying or doing what. Let's not let the lyrics slip through one ear and out the other. This is life, reality, and it's in desparate need of a change. Be that change.
Peace & Love.

It sucks, it really sucks...because shit like this happens all the time. My best friend committed suicide about three weeks ago, and now this song is just so much more true than it ever was. "No matter how hard he tried, he often thought of suicide" wow. That line really describes him. Perfectly. And I'm only fifteen...we really are the youth of the nation, and how can we just pretend like shit like this doesn't happen all the time? All these adults have been telling me, you know, that's so terrible, and I mean obviously I'm not the only person to ever go through this, but they think it's so crazy...and it really isn't. It's normal. And that's sick
truth | Reviewer: ali | 7/3/09
this song is very much like the feelings and inside thoughts that eveyone has had at least once. the sad truth is that this world might seem like its going to hell but its just changeinging in the wiredest of ways the good are becoming better the bad are becoming worse . its all a really big shade of gray were black and whit blur
Incredibly Deep Song | Reviewer: Neuricius | 4/19/09
This song was inspired by the "school shootings" at Santana High School and Columbine High School, and it describes how much authors got disturbed by them. It says about boys and girls who have marched to death without knowing it, "taking the two in the chest" from "this kid though they sat by in class". It says that biggest monsters in the world are just ordinary ppl you meet every day, normal humans that in one moment just flip, and then they "show what they feel with the sound of the gat". Gat is the old slang for the gun, the worst solution when you're depressed... I guess I'll never comprehend the depth of this song, thinking about how it could have happened in my school but luckily never has...

this song gives me the chills everytime i hear the we are we are somthing about this song makes me feel so real I know kids that are picked on and i feel bad for them but i dont say anything i dont realy think about it but what if i become the victum i might not have been the one to pick on them but i could be the one to pay the price because i just sat and watched it go on without the thought too stand for someone other then myself.thats why after this song i started looking at situations with alot more care all together this song is one of the most meaningful songs i ahve ever heard
sad song really | Reviewer: tyler | 9/27/08
1st verse is about school shootings and the kids who do it.
the suzy verse is about a girl who is a slut because she didn't have a dad. next, johnny commited suicide because he didn't fit in & had no friends.
youth of a nation is about the failure of parents and the breakdown of society with kids paying the price.

When i was in school i was the out cast, i was spit on, burned with food out of a microwave and on a few occasins stabed with forks and knives. I had the cops called on me and they were told i had guns and bombs. Never once was it true. What made it worse, the principal and the superintendent would sit there at lunch and watch it happen to my friend and i. EVERY time we stood up to walk away or started to say something we got yelled at and in trouble, while they just went on and nothing happend to them. In the end i started to do alot of bad stuff that im not at all proud of. In my mind i would think, mabye if i just shot them and myselfs it would be worth something. I hated everything to do with school and wanted to die. But i found god and i completley changed. When i heard this song i actually broke down and cried while driving to school one day. I was the out cast because i was quiet. If i had not found god when i did, i would not be where i am today. Its amazing the way i feal when i remind myself that when it feals like noone cares, God still loves you!

This song basically speaks for itself. You never know when your life will end. Will it end today? Will it end tomorrow? That's why you should always pray and thank God for everything you have. Because as the others say, you never know what you have till its gone. Thank you, P.O.D.
My School | Reviewer: Kendra | 2/23/08
There was a drive-by shooting at my school today, and it's so weird because I thought of this song a few days before... I'm so thankful that no one was hurt, and am very grateful to have my friends and family. This song to help remind me how mortal and human we really are. Thanks P.O.D.
