well...all I have to say is that as a classic rock fan, I always liked this song, and Ozzy for the most part. I agree that it does seem to be from the perspective that Ozzy sings, that he is taking pity on Crowley. Nevertheless it is a tribute to him. BUT, make no mistake...satan is all over rock through and through. The musicians admit it themselves. Jim Morrison talked about this frequently, regarding his demonic possession and Satanism. Jim Morrison believed he was a shaman and that spirits used his body to influence the masses. Morrison met what he refers to as, “Satan” the “spirit of music” when living as a street person on Venice beach. It was at this time that Morrison received some of his most influential songs as he took notes as Satan gave Morrison visions of concert situations with completed songs. Morrison said it was like taking notes at this fantastic rock concert. The rest is history. Morison’s music really was not his own. He was a mere puppet who prostituted his body for worldwide fame and fortune. So...come up with your own conclusions from those that actually admit it firsthand.

First you might do well to check out the facts. Ozzy mispronounces Mr. Crowley's name, hardly a devout follower, eh? And according to the better sources, even tho' Ozzy sang "did you listen to Satan's call?", Crowley didn't believe in an actually "satan" and he didn't talk to the dead; he believed in reincarnation.
Of course religious people react before they do their homework. It's easier to criticize blindly than research and use your own brain.
Best live solo EVER.. | Reviewer: Lydian | 9/9/08
Screw the lyrics mate,, when Randy plays this song live it even 20 years on send chills over my whole body... is a fantastic song with brilliant guitaring ever played ,, faultless live... as for Mr Aleister Crowley... educate yerself people,, Aleister was like tring to hook up the old ancient ways, ie: the Necronomicon but in his own fukt up way.. the song if u actually listen is anti black magic...and sings of sadness for the bloke....mind you... just liike suicide solution is anti suicide...half the old testament is taken from alot of the necronomicons verses and rituals....but mate randy man can / could he play,, maby crowley conjured upsome evil demon to take him from this world to play as his own servant... pfft... U christian's are so dumb ...
Research "Thelema" before judging Crowley... | Reviewer: geof.93 | 8/7/08
I agree with reviewer Zebb Jessup...Crowley has nothing to do with Satan. He started Thelema, which was his own ideas mixed with some bits of "Golden Dawn" teachings...do your research before you form conclusions, and make silly comments.

Interperet it any way you want... | Reviewer: Sam | 8/7/08
This actually sounds like it was written from a friends point of view, in my opinion.
Mr. Crowley is the adaptation of a friend of his, as though he didn't want to use the real name.
It could even have been written by the original authors wife if you look at the words the right way....
All I know is that I love it!

I have to laugh at you. You're brain is extremely corrupted in christianity. Can't you enjoy music or do you people always try and preach how everyone is going to hell if they listen to this because a song is believed to have satanism. I also agree with ghostfrog about trying to find meaning in songs.
not everything means something | Reviewer: ghostfrog | 7/11/08
It's just a song. Crowley makes a good subject for a heavy metal song. A bunch of words are put together so they rhyme. It's sung to some dark and heavy music. But it's just a song. Not every song has some hidden meaning. In fact most songs don't. They're just there to be listened to & enjoyed. Stop trying to find some hidden deeper meaning where there is none. It's just a song.
lol ur idiots | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/8/08
this song wasnt even written by ozzy it was written by bob daisley and randy rhoads they liked the occult ozzy even said "i had nothing to do with the song. i just sang it" in an interview. and ur all like "omg burn ozzy and mr crowley too they worship satan i am a holy warrior for god" trying to get into heaven with a keyboard. if there is a heaven the people who would step over everyone elses fingers to get there like these holy warriors should be the first ones in hell.

The guy who dreamed up the song did so whilst drugged out on heroin....he most likely also wrote the music and what words he was part in writing to the song whilst drugged out on herion....you are not likely to find much TRUE MEANING in it.....Alister Crowley wanted to unite his conscious self with his unconscious self....thereby removing ego....and finding his TRUE SELF....Ozzy accomplished all this much easier....he just did heroin !!!!
ozzy agrees with mr. crowley, not disagree | Reviewer: cj | 2/6/08
ozzy didnt ask mr. crowley if actualy though he was pure, if u look, before he says it, he says mr. charming, not mr. crowley, and plus when he siad, 'You fooled all the people with magic (yeah) you waited on Satan's door." notice he says you fooled people with your magic, YEAH. the YEAH is wat seperated the sentances. "u waited on satans door." makes him sound like mr. crowley was depressed and i think ozzy had pitty on him, but wasnt being mean
satanism? | Reviewer: a proud christian | 1/25/08
all of y'all satanists are falling right into the devil's trap. You are believing exactly what he wants you to believe, that he's just a misunderstood fun guy, who wants you to have fun in life, and he'll throw a party for you when you die. well well you'll just see how fooled you are when the day that humanity nukes itself into oblivion finally comes about.
Ozzy disagrees with Crowley | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/23/08
I think ozzy as disagreeing with Crowley here. "What they done in your head?" "You fooled all the world with magick when you waited on satan's call." "Did you think you were pure?" That all sounds like he doesn't concurr with Crowley.

Yo joey, I agree with you whole heartedly its about time that people relize satanism is not a bad thing. I have been a satanist for about 5 years now, that is, admiting to being one anyway. like you said yourself most people without relizing it are already practicing many of the beliefs of satanism. Its merely just FOLLOW YOUR OWN PATH. do what you want when you want to. as long as it does not involve someone who does not wish to be involved. Sure, I have not had the chance to read the satanic bible but I plan to here shortly. Im sure I could go to the mall and request a copy from the book store down there, they can have it in within about a week if anyone is interested in that type of thing. Anyway. On to the song its self. Absolute work of art. Ozzy is and always will be the best in my point of view. No one trumps ozzy. Keep in mind, he (and the rest of black sabbath) are the reasons most people even listen to metal. Along with metallica, and AC/DC of course, gotta give the good ones their credit. anyway Rock on metal lovers

Common miscoceptions and Thelema. | Reviewer: Zebb Jessup | 12/16/07
Aleister Crowly was not Satanic in any sense of religion. His beliefs about any deity or denomination (of the hundreds) of "Satan" are not on record. Crowly was an Occult practicioner. Occult beliefs are based around the principle of searching for Truth. Crowly was mainly known for his teaching and foundation of Thelema. Thelema is centered on two principles; Do what thou wilt shall be the Whole of the Law.( meaning to follow what you want, seek it, and you will get it. this pertains not only to wants and desires, but steers you on a path towards your destiny)
And; Love is the Law, Love under Will. ( Meaning that love is not pre-destined, but is still the key to enlightenment ) Thelema is wonderful...read about it.

Joey said: "And remember, if you state an opinion about things you don't know anything about, except for what your prejudiced believes tells you, it's gonna come back and bite you..."
Then why don't you bite your own ass? Because, my dear friend, you are just like all the teen satanists - you know nothing, but still pretend to know! Do you know even what the word "satan" means? The old israilic word "shathan" wich means "enemy".
And Lucifer is NOT an ancient roman god. Yes, it means Lghtcarrier, but he is one name of Shathanail. Read the history of the Church Dogmas, then - the Bible, and then, then, and ONLY then dare to speak what is satanism.
You are just like everyone else - one with his own vision about the satanism.
And that is the satanism - a thing, that does excists only in the imagination of men. Satanistic Bibles! Ha! Just one fool had written his pathetic lifeviwes, and there are other - bigger - fools, who are eager to believe him.
God, where is the Inquisiton now.... Ha ha ha!
