metaphor | Reviewer: Jake | 4/22/09
this is a metaphor alienation Kurt felt from his parents, i think. he might as well have been living under a bridge. it has nothing to do with being famous, because Nirvana wasn't famous until after this album.
The Music. The love and the hate. | Reviewer: andrew johnson | 2/9/09
The love: the ability to share your feelings. to peer into your own soul without even thinking about it.
The hate: Being number one without wanting it. Making millions when all u want is thousands. Being made into an American Icon without ur permision. without ur concent.
these are jsut a few things kurt was tryin to get at. but with all taht depression all that "conformitty" he couldnt pull it off any longer. couldnt keep the cool head. i understand this man so little. but want to understand him more. waht i know is only what i know. but shit. i can share some personal feelings with this man.atleast from what i understand in his music his interviews. and all his mini writings that he left behind.
i was going to high school in the northwest in early 90's | Reviewer: hollywoodsaint | 12/30/08
brings back memories.I was in portland oregon and it always rained. whether it was the weather or wether a disaster of a girfriend.sometimes words that don't make sense when you hear them actually make the most sense. thank you kurt..

There's one bullshit about this song, he never actually lived under a bridge, his friends said so in one of the interviews. Though he did spend some time there smoking pot etc. it's still a depressive song if you ask me.

i think that this is a way of kurt saying i know something bad is going to happen but i just don't know what. i don't think anybody ever really knows what he means in most of the stuff he writes because he doesn't want anyone to.
i understand that.

Upsetting | Reviewer: Faith | 10/28/08
the song is upsetting.
some people say that it is a sweet song and some say that it is a hard core song.
i think it is a personal song.
the song shows how different ppl live.
rock dies hard.
he never wanted to be famous, just wanted to make enough money to keep making music..
RIP Kurt Cobain
Bridge over the Wishkah | Reviewer: Jesse | 10/19/08
Oh, btw, he actually stayed under a bridge in Aberdeen as a kid for a bit...I've driven over it. So, while this song is obviously more metaphorical than that...it probably has something to do with that depression and desolation of running away and living under a crappy bridge.
depression | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/29/08
I'm suffering from lifetime depressions myself like Kurt. Fortunately I've had help and am under control with medications... but this song, and then especially the part after the 10 minute silence is exactly how I feel, it is striking. To a lot of people this part is just noise. But first the exhausted saying of mamaaa followed by chaos, fear, agony; thats just the way it is.

Anyone who grew up chilling with bums, finding places to drink, smoking at school breaks, in the plaza hating High School, during the same time, we have a similar sense of humor, there's lots of depressing towns. Plus, anyone's aloud to argue what they want, but if you didn't grow up like that don't base it on Aberdeen VH1 trivia shit, base it on realizing no one else will be able to have those memories grunge music brings back, but (us)!
