This is an awesome lyrics. I love that book. I love Kurts ability to render the sence of what he wanted to interpret. I think he didnt condemn Grenouille, I think he undestood him and he was a bit like him.

This song is more awesome than taking a dump. I wish that you could smell my dumps, you would be amazed by their odiferous pungency.

I am a huge Nirvana fan and this song is my favorite. Its a lot different from other songs on In Utero as Kurt changes his voice creatively to respond to the rage and heavy tempo of the song. I wish the lyrics were a little bit easier to understand but that adds to the feeling of the song in a good way. I rock out to this song almost everyday, it gets me fired up almost every time I hear it, I wish I could have heard it live.

I think Kurt caught the person Grenouille perfectly in this simple lyrics.
I think he wrote cuz he understood how Grenouille must have felt.

I've read the book, and I saw the title and thought "wow, kurt cobains rendition! this should be awesome" but he adds nothing more to it. He just tells the story, if anything he takes away from the magic. This song is crap. I expected better.

I have read somewhere that 'Perfume'(a book by Patrick Suskind 1985) had inspired Kurt in many ways.I think that the whole lyrics in this song are related to 'Jean-Baptiste Grenouille', the main character in the book.The song is really hard and it's from their last album 'In Utero'.
Many of the Nirvana songs are hard to be understood but they have very deep sense.The book is absolutely astonishing.And the song could be a really nice soundtrack of the movie.I wonder how it would sound accousticly!?
