to me, these lyrics do have a meaning. it's like kurt is talking about an abusive relationship between two people. This is a really beautiful song though. NIRVANA AND KURT COBAIN ROCK!!!!! GRUNGE FOR LIFE!

I absolutely love this song as well as Nirvana!
The lyrics are great, and in fact do make sense if you are actually able to comprehend them.
The meaning of songs are generally not just going to pop up at you. it's poetry, and in my opinion, left for the listener/reader/whatever to decide what it means to them.
Seriously though, Nirvana kicks ass.

It does make sense. Its about the lengths people go to to please other people and how confining a relationship can be. It also deals with the ensuing depression. The song fucking rocks as well.
