the girl did not die, she escaped by gaining gearld friend's trust. this incident occured in 1987 and was supposed to be on their 1989 album bleach. cobain thought that it wasnt right for the sound of the album they had at the time, so it was then put onto nevermind. and yes 2 fuckheads raped a girl while singing "polly" which is disgusting in my mind. kurt was not amussed by this and when he found this out he never sang "polly" the same way, he changed the lyrics around.

It's hard to believe that Cobain injected himself with an insane triple lethal dose of heroin,(which would kill you literally instantly, whenever u seen a heroine addict dead the needle is usually still stuck in the persons arm, thats how quick they die) pulled the needle out of his arm, carefully put away that needle and the heroin paraphernalia neatly back into a cigar box a few feet away, rolled down and button his sleeves, then picked up a Remington 20-gauge shotgun, placed it in his mouth and discharged it(which was a cover up). There does not seem to be another case in history in which anything close to this has ever occurred and many researchers feel it is simply impossible.
also someone has said on a lie detector which found him 99.7% true, that he said courtney love paid someone $50,000 to kill kurt, so it is obvious that kurt didnt just shoot himself and then rolled over, it was more behind the scenes that no one knows.
And to explain kurts letter, he had the sloppiest handwriting, and so did courtney love, if you see letters that either of them wrote + their child(which i doubt wrote the letter) they all have the same terrible hand-writing. I wish someone would take up this case again cause its wrong that people critisize him cause they think he commited suicide when he didnt. and since this is a review for polly lyircs. ya the lyrics are perfect, great song! thankyou for your time, spread the news please.

He was appalled when he found out that Polly a heavily ironic anti-rape song had been used as background music in a real gang-rape. And two, most of you are right about the story of the real "Polly". I don't think her name was released, and I just actually heard about it. (I'm 16, bite me. ) I don't think she survived long...a blowtorch probably ruined her skin too much and she died by infection probably. I can't even listen to this song anymore - I knew there was something wrong with it...

No, the young girl was tortured for years -n- then one day the girl just started being nice to her raper -n- havin real conversations with him so he finaly let her go. That's what the song's about. Kurt was just soo amazed that a girl of such a young age was intellegent enough to figure that out...that's why he made it into a song

this isnt about a girl named Polly, Carina Sin, but two men raped a girl while listening to this song and kurt was disgusted when he heard the news of this. he actually went to call them "wastes of sperm and egg"

The real girl did not survive. She was raped and killed in Tacoma, WA after a punk rock show in 1987. The killer, Gerald Friend, used a blowtorch. She was 14. Kurt added the escape as wish fulfillment.

This is an awesome song.Its good to listen to when there is nothing to do. And jurt cobain didnt kill himself,,,he was murdered...the reason they are not charging courtney love with the murder is because she has money and boobs. i mean how can somebody pull a shotgun trigger when your finger cant reach the trigger???? or how can you pull the trigger with your toe if you have your shoes on??? please if you give me a logical answer, i would be convinced the cobain killed himself,,,but that will never happen.

The song is about a girl who was kidnapped brought into the woods tied up raped and tortured with a blowtorch....The song is an anti-rape song. Just thought you should know the real story.

1. It's "cut yourself" on the first presses of the album then it was changed to "hurt yourself". Buy a copy of Nevermind and Unplugged use iTunes and see for yourself.

2. I don't know where all these "stories" and "true stories" about the plot are coming from, but it sounds like nothing but rumor or plain BS. If I'm wrong, then by all means cite a reliable source. For that matter, citing an unreliable source would be an improvement LOL

I just watched The Nirvana- Nevermind, Classic CD's DVD, it goes in pretty good detail about polly, its really deep, Really good song. Curt Cobain is legend, props for his vocals on this one. I wish he wouldnt have killed himself :(

um actually polly was written after a girl was abducted after a punk rock show she was only 14 and he tortured her by using a whip a blowtorch and razorblades on her he tied her upside down while torturing her and she fooled im into thinking she was enjoying it and he went to get some more stuff and she legged it to a garage nearby got help and the man was arrested and sent to jail :D
