Kurt clearly mentions that it's a cover, the original by the Meat Puppets. Not disagreeing that the man was gifted, he had the balls to take music into a previously uncharted era and pulled it off perfectly in a sense which has been copied a lot since then but never matched. But this isn't one of those examples, this is just a song he covered because he enjoyed it so much. if you're such a big fan you should have known these things. Like what his actual name was and maybe even how to spell it, think he would have appreciated that more than asskissing. And innocent my ass, he was a real person just like anybody else and was just as vulnerable to the addictions of the rich and famous lifestyle that any one of us would be, and like many made some mistakes along the way, like the addiction which eventually cost him his life. So give him credit - he wasn't born with some ridiculous divine god-inspired talent, the man sat down and worked hard on everything he created and his fans should have the respect to remember that. He was often selfish, an exaggerator, a liar, an addict and drug abuser etc. He was also incredibly brilliant - those things are often side effects of having some kind of extreme intellect. That troubled kid from a small town made his mark on the world. He created a new sound, raw and filled with emotion, he went where nobody else had gone before and left us with a collection of incredible music.
