------ performed by Nirvana

really? | Reviewer: Kris | 9/22/09

Well then matt guess im not a nirvana fan because this is STP. See its motherfuckers like you who think that any good grunge song automatically has to be a Nirvana song. Well i like Nirvana too and ill admit it Kurt Cobain's writings sucked. they had no fuckin sense to them and i know youll get all pissy and be like "o u just dont understand what he was trying to say" or "you fuckin retarded" No i know what im saying.....before u say shit get ur facts right

reply to matt | Reviewer: Marquita | 9/2/09

Um actually Matt, you're wrong.
Although the voice is deathly similar to Kurt Cobain's, in reality it is Scott Weiland's of the Stone Temple Pilots.

True, "Creep" is a Radiohead song, but "Creep" is also a Stone Temple Pilots song that is often credited to Nirvana as "Half the Man I Used to Be." Nirvana never recorded such a song.

Look up Stone Temple Pilots on wikipedia.org and you'll see for yourself.

Obviously you haven't been listening to Nirvana enough to know that this is not they're song.

And this is coming to you from a big fan of Nirvana, Matt...next time...do your research.

wow | Reviewer: matt | 8/3/09

if you think for a second that isnt kurts voice you must not be a true nirvana fan. ive been listening to nirvana since i was born and i think i can tell the difference between kurts and someone elses voice. and if you think this song is called creep you must be retarded cause creep is a song by radiohead look it up!!!!

Little Known Fact Guy | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/29/09

You are so wrong. Kurt Cobain has nothing to do with this song. It is called "Creep", there is not a song called "Half the Man I Used to Be", and there never was. It was released on the album Core in 1992, and was written by Scott Weiland years before Cobain died.

kurt def wrote this song... | Reviewer: tara | 2/13/09

c'mon you can tell that it is not his voice, but it is his writing...without a doubt! nirvana would have done an even better job of this song (this is great, but c'mon its not nirvana) i can hear the similarity in the voices, but i can also hear the differences

Shoot me, if I'm wrong but... | Reviewer: Joe | 1/14/09

I doubt this is Kurt Cobain singing. It doesn't sound like his voice. I'm a Nirvana-obsessed freak and this isn't Kurt's voice 'nor does it sound close to it, to me. I admit I thought it was Nirvana at first but the more I heard it, I didn't think it was Nirvana especially when I heard the chorus that sounds like maintstream bullshit.

Little Known Fact | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/12/09

fact: Creep was originally written by Kurt Cobain. It just isn't widely known. Watch the music video compared to the other version. The Chorus is the same. HOWEVER. Get Nirvana - Half the man I used to be
now get Stone Temple Pilots - Creep.

Examine the first and second courses of the song in comparison with each other.

The vocals in "half the man" are not identical to "creep" only the chorus is the same.

Rumoured? True or false? Judge for yourself : "This recording was preformed by Kurt Cobain, but was not released to the public due to his death, As a result, Courtney Love then owned the rights to all of Cobains work. It was not released until after Courtney Love cut a deal with the producer of STP. After STP's producer bought the rights, (at a very high price) they did a few simple voice overs with STP's lead singer, but due to time constrictions, left the chorus untouched. The rights were bought, because the song was in fact popular, and STP's credibility to the public, was facing serious damage, as well in popularity at the time.

Judge for yourself.

It's not Nirvana and never was... | Reviewer: James | 7/11/08

Thanks to Limewire I used to believe that this song was a Nirvana song, but the same exact version that you all are hearing is by Stone Temple Pilot's and it's off of the album Core. Yes, the vocal style is similiar (almost identical, actually) to that of Kurt Cobain's, but this is not a song by Nirvana, and Nirvana never recorded this song, nor a cover of it...Scott Weiland, like the leader singer from Seether and many poster grunge bands, has sometimes been accused of using a vocal style too similiar to other grunge artists. However, Scott has a proven time and time again that he has his own voice and his own distinct style; and this song is just simply one that sounded like Cobain's singing...however if you listen to the rest of the intruments, it's obvious that it's not Nirvana; neither Dave Grohl or Chris Novoselic share that style...so listen to the version that you BELIEVE to be Nirvana, and then listen to the real Stone Temple Pilot's song or watch the video of it...and you will realize it's the same exact song, and that Nirvana has never covered it...and by the way I love both bands, I just love them enough to be able to distingiush what is and isn't their work. Thanks.
