Come as You Are | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/25/2008
Words I live by everyday. People see me and thats what they get, they don't get anything else but who I am. I think the lyrics are just be yourself but to Kurt who knows what they mean? Kurt said once in an interview "They mean what you want them to." and almost every Nirvana song lets you interpret them as they apply to you which is the beauty of Nirvana and why Kurt, Krist, Dave, Chad, Pat and anyone else who helped Kurt and Krist get their message accross touched the hearts of people everywhere

to me this song means to be who you are. never let someone make you be something you dont want to be. just be yourself no matter what.
i live by this song everyday. kurt has really helped me to believe in myself and to not take shit from poeple and be myself. i am going to get the words Come As You Are tattooed to my forearm.
memoria | Reviewer: you-know-who | 10/21/2008
memoria also means memory en spanish, I know because I'm mexican, but if you separate it, it would be, as the guy of "Memoria (is the key)" said, Me Moria, in english I was dying.
I think, it is about being as you are and not pretending to be another person, not having things to hide. It's my opinion, and I'm not stating it's a fact.
Meaning | Reviewer: Pamelas Singerq | 10/11/2008
I agree, the mud and bleach are references to heroin. Come as you are and I don't have a gun means, I'm you're friend. I will accept you (heroin addiction and all). I won't hurt you. I'm not threatening.

I like this song. I really like it...and of course for me it's meaning is other than for you...and I think this is the beauty of the art... just listen it, and feel it...it will give answers for you...
Memoria | Reviewer: A moose | 6/19/2008
Yah, memoria means 'memory' in latin. Im not saying kurt was a latin scholar, but this theory seems just a tad more likely than a "magic air spirit, or whatever" whispering 'I was dying' in his ear.
Doused in mud, soaked in bleach.. | Reviewer: Kevin | 4/17/2008
I think doused in mud meant the heroin needles that were used while not having much money, and reusing them, mud being dried blood. Soaked in bleach as in trying to disinfect the needle before re-using.
Anyone who knows about Kurt's problem with the shit may understand where I am coming from.
Doused in mud, soaked in bleach | Reviewer: kevin | 4/17/2008
I think doused in mud meant the heroin needles that were used while not having much money were being shared, mud, being dried blood, covered the needle. Soaked in bleach as in trying to disinfect the needle before re-using.
Anyone who knows about Kurt's problem with the shit may understand where I am coming from.

come as you are | Reviewer: nevermindXP | 4/2/2008
the last guy was the most correct, i mean each to their own interpretation, but the song is about someone who wants company but on his own terms, or people wanting his company but contradicting him, either way it works, saying he doesnt have a gun means he has nothing to hide, its not an illusion to him shooting himself dont be an rtard. i have come as you are tattooed on my chest :)
