"Come over and do the twist" Sounds like someone really happy to me, at least in that moment. "Love you so much it makes me sick" That's what love does to you. I love this one girl so much I got uncontrollably nervous around her and anxious to the point that I couldn't stand to be around her and yet I wouldn't not be around her. So I finally went to the doctor and got prescribed some medicine for this and other problems as well. Now I'm fine for the most part. I can handle being around her. She's a great friend and I don't care if that's all we ever are. "Beat me out of me" a violent reference, but dramatic and powerful. But is there any emotional difference between drug addiction or deeply falling in love? Both make you out of yourself. Both make you do stupid things.
