i dont understand why u ppl have to pick through every fing line of every song of his music i think we should all just listen to it and enjoy it not try to pick his brain to figure out what he was feeling theres no point and also the murder/suicide ether way it dosent matter i think we should all just let him r.i.p b/c ether way a great musician/songwriter is gone and figuring out which one it was isn't gonna change that
Murder. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/28/08
Go to justiceforkurt.com. There is no room left for doubt that he was murdered if you have read up on it and if you comment on shit you don't know about you're a tool.
This song is not an apology for the In Utero album; Kurt would never apologize for something that need no apology. If you knew ANYTHING about him you'd know that his songs had very, very little to do with his own life because he didn't want to encourage drug use or any other bad behavior. He pulled all his material from shit he heard and saw-the news, for example.
Learn something about him before you try to know what the fuck you're talking about.

Kurt Cobain was murdered. If he was not murdered then how did the needle get put away neatly. He had three times the lethal limit. There was no way that he could've put the needle away and then pulled a gun on himself. Junkies who have OD'd with the lethal limit in their systems still have the needle stuck in their arm. There's still a PI, Tom Grant that is still invesitgating this because the facts around Kurt's death are quite mysterious. Try going to www.justiceforkurt.com. It gives all the facts about Kurt Cobain's death. It's there so you can form your own opinion. Even if he did inject himself with with three times the lethal limit of herione, there's no way he could've pulled the gun on himself.
The true meaning of this song. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/9/08
This song is simple... he is apologizing for writing his In Utero album.
He his asking about what more he can do. He says everyone is happy "gay"... learn the true meaning of that word. He goes on to say he wishes he was like us "you", we are all easily amused by his music.
Find my nest of salt, is him saying he is finding his "comfort zone", but everything his is fault because he was pressured into representing a generation, so he is never happy, but he doesn't care anymore he will just go along with it all "I'll take all the blame".
Sunburn with freezerburn is a paradox symbolizing that the album isn't going to get interpreted right. "Choking on the ashes of her(the album, think of the title) enemy(us, the listener, or the media)", this is saying that the album wouldn't get it's true meaning accross.
It ends with "All in all is all we are",He his saying people will take in his music differently then everyone, we are what we are and there is nothing he can do. This part seems like it's more of him giving up, and accepting that fact that people don't understand him.
This also comes out pretty clear when you relize that it is the last song on the record.
simply... | Reviewer: xavier | 12/30/07
Between the lines of misery and despair; the joys and harbingers of tidings for and aft, the apparent mystery is not undone through all the nuances of individual announcements on this here board...
When a herald laments "I am hurt" from whence could be the culprit? Does the wound come from a rabid dog, a broken heart, a wrestled conscience, nay a splinter in the foreskin?
We simply cannot know from the paltry description... This lyrical medley from the deceased poet isn't filled with enough to be definitive...
All I can attest to, is being married to a woman similar to his femme fatale (sic) I'd be apologizing all I could as well... (yes, this was written b4 the blessed 'nuptials. -lol!)
Keep rockin...

its a song about his marital life. He was searching for a girl of his life and once he married her, he found out that she was sometimes cheerful and easy tu amuse but most of the time bitching, mocking, swearing, getting on his nerves whereas he was a calm, homely and melancholic type. Simple life-thirsty bitch versus broody Hamlet with an electric guitar.
my pov | Reviewer: MadPoet | 12/22/07
i think this is most simply a song, like some one already said here, about the inability to cope and to compromise, either it was in marriage, "socializing", etc. its a common theme in his songs. "what else should i be?" "i dont have the right" "i wish i was like you" "i'll take all the blame"...maybe its just me but it seems to be there all along...other guesses anyone?
man? | Reviewer: divij | 12/9/07
man i dont know how to put this up ,after reading all the reviews about kurt cobain and listening to all of his songs over a million times..i think its not possible for any one on this earth to figure out what kind of a person kurt was...all i know is that he was a good artist who has painted one of the best abstract songs in the history, and every painting, song or any artwork is an artists individual way of expression ,regarding his state of mind at a given time ...live on man life is short.....watch out ....live on...
LOL @ DJ'Reptoid's comment | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/16/07
How can you hold an arguement like that when you have the grammar skills of a first grader?
Is it so hard to come to grips with the fact that Kurt wasn't happy with his life and the consequences of becoming a successful artist? If he was some other guy in a band you'd probably agree with the notion that he commited suicide. You're blind to the fact, my friend. Go back to school.
